Star Wars Games That Would Make Great LEGO Sets

Star Wars Games That Would Make Great LEGO Sets

Star Wars has historically been an excellent source for LEGO sets, and the video games are no exception. There are a lot of games that feature iconic characters and scenes that can be recreated in LEGO form. If used as a reference, they could be the source of several great sets that offer something different and new to Star Wars fans.

Star Wars and LEGO have had a long-running partnership that has led to many great collaborations. Some of the most famous structures in the franchise, such as TIE fighters and the Millennium Falcon have been the focus of LEGO sets and builds. In fact, the existence of the LEGO Star Wars video games is a testament to their successful relationship. The sheer creativity in the Star Trek universe makes it one of the best franchises that could be built in LEGO, even though some could say that Star Wars is oversaturated in pop culture. There have been a lot of Star Wars LEGO sets in the past, and there will likely be several more in the future.

The Star Wars video games have expanded the franchise’s universe in several ways, revealing new locations and characters. Many of these additions would be perfect for new LEGO sets. Some Star Wars games could even have enough to offer for a whole string of LEGO sets, especially the more popular ones.

Knights Of The Old Republic Would Make For A Stellar LEGO Set

Star Wars Games That Would Make Great LEGO Sets

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic is one of the better-known Star Wars video games for a very good reason. Taking place before the events of the movies, it offered an all-new slate of characters and places to explore. The Dungeons & Dragons-inspired gameplay led to a deep and fun adventure that is well worth the time of RPG fans and Star Wars fans alike, and even James Gunn called KOTOR his favorite game.

The cast of the game would be great to see in LEGO form. From the briefly fallen padawan Juhani to the fan favorite assassin droid HK-47, there are plenty of memorable characters that could be made into minifigures. As for settings, there are two big locations that could be made into excellent sets. The first is Taris, the first planet that the player visits after the tutorial and where they will spend plenty of time learning the ropes of adventuring in KOTOR. The second, of course, would be the climactic confrontation with Darth Malak in the Star Forge. Between Malak’s memorable appearance and the incredibly cool location of the fight, it would be a spectacular set to assemble.

The popularity of Knights of the Old Republic would provide another advantage to making a LEGO set based on the game. Even with KOTOR‘s remake delayed indefinitely, the popularity of the game and characters make it a hot commodity. KOTOR still has a very strong fanbase that would appreciate a LEGO incarnation.

Star Wars Racer Could Spawn A Line Of Podracers

Star Wars Racer is one of the dark horses of Star Wars video games. A short-lived subseries of Star Wars games, Racer mixed racing and combat similar to the Mario Kart series, with the added twist that the player was rewarded for destroying enemy pods. While not the biggest of series, it produced a few solid racing titles.

Where Star Wars Racer does show its worth as a potential LEGO property is its roster of racers. The games featured a wide selection of pilots, all with their own unique podracers, including secret characters from Racer Revenge. Many of these pilots are either extremely minor characters or were completely new inventions for the games, and most have never been made into minifigures. These pilots and their podracers could easily be a line of smaller collectible kits. The variety along would be excellent for collectors, and dedicated builders could spend hours mixing and matching podracer parts. If possible, a way to race the podracers could be incorporated as well.

Even though Star Wars Racer was never a major IP, the fact that it has such a wide cast of playable podracers makes it a fantastic choice for a LEGO crossover. The podracers from Racer have potential to be a big series for LEGO despite their relatively niche status. Star Wars: Racer overshadows Star Wars: Squadron despite coming out long before, and a LEGO set may be the best way to honor the legacy of this overlooked classic.

Star Wars: Dark Forces Could Provide A Legendary Jedi & His Trusty Ship

Kyle Katarn In Jedi Outcast

Star Wars: Dark Forces and Jedi Knight are two series of games that both star Kyle Katarn, a character who has built up quite a reputation among the Star Wars fandom. Proficient in wielding both a blaster and a lightsaber, as well as being a potent force-user, Kyle is one of the most well-rounded combatants in the franchise. With his natural toughness and sarcastic personality, it’s little wonder why he became so popular.

While Kyle alone would make for a great addition, his trusty ship would also be a great kit to build. The Moldy Crow looks like a bit of a wreck, and it shows its many years of flying the less friendly parts of space. However, despite never looking as impressive as Star Wars: Squadron‘s customizable ships, it still faithfully ferried Kyle wherever he needed to be in the galaxy. Although it would later be replaced by the sleeker Raven Claw, which would make an excellent LEGO build in its own right, the Moldy Crow is a more iconic ship, and one that fans would love to recreate in LEGO form.

Kyle is one of the most popular Star Wars characters outside of the main series, and immortalizing him and the Moldy Crow in LEGO form would be an excellent tribute. His adventures were loved by many players, and he may be one of the most well-recieved parts of the expanded universe. Whether or not Kyle becomes Star Wars canon, a LEGO set starring him would surely be as beloved as the man himself.

Star Wars LEGO kits will likely continue to be a tradition for years to come. With the main series characters and scenes already having gotten their spotlight, the games should have their own time in the sun for LEGO sets. When it comes to Star Wars games, there could be a few phenomenal LEGO sets just waiting to be made.
