Star Trek: Prodigy season 2’s episodes are nearing completion, according to executive producer Aaron J. Waltke. A dedicated #SaveStarTrekProdigy fan campaign helped the beloved animated series secure Netflix as its new streaming home after Prodigy was abruptly canceled by Paramount+. Star Trek: Prodigy season 1 is set to premiere Christmas Day on Netflix, with 20 all-new Prodigy season 2 episodes premiering in 2024.

Aaron J. Waltke thoroughly understands and respects the expansive legacy of Star Trek, and he previously teased that Star Trek: Prodigy season 2 will touch upon every previous incarnation of the Star Trek franchise. Waltke’s words, “The turning of chapters…” and “The everlasting journey…” indicate that Star Trek: Prodigy season 2 isn’t designed to end the series, and seeds are being planted for Star Trek: Prodigy season 3 and beyond on Netflix.
