Spy X Family: 10 Strong Female Bruisers In Anime Just Like Yor

Spy X Family: 10 Strong Female Bruisers In Anime Just Like Yor

As Spy x Family shows, Yor Forger is one of the latest in a long line of strong female fighters. A punch from her managed to knock out a full-sized cow, and that’s when she was surprised. It’s refreshing to see the roles reversed with the usual trope of men being the bruisers. Loid Forger, instead, uses his people skills and charm over his strength, which provides a great contrast to his wife.

While there are different ways to showcase power, few are as entertaining as watching a strong lady punch something much bigger than them into outer space. “Punchgirls”, as the internet affectionately calls them, are an awesome sight in any anime.

Aoi Kunieda

Spy X Family: 10 Strong Female Bruisers In Anime Just Like Yor

Aoi Kunieda is the leader of the all-girl delinquent group known as The Red Tails.  With her wooden sword, she is capable of impossible feats such as cleanly cutting stone walls in half through technique and raw power alone.

Much like Yor Forger, Aoi Kunieda loves her family. Her delinquent gang is less a group of bullies and more of a place for outcasts to feel welcome. Even when she was betrayed, her loyalty stayed true and she defeated them with as little harm as possible.

Kohaku

Kohaku from Dr. Stone

Kohaku is one of the first friends that Senku makes when he awakens from his stone slumber. She is the village’s strongest fighter, being able to go on par with the likes of Tsukasa in battle. She is called “Lioness” by her friends to compliment her strength and familial loyalty.

Like Yor, Kohaku isn’t too book-smart when compared to Senku (understandable being actual tree people) but she possesses great martial strength. However, when it comes to combat, Kohaku is also an incredibly quick thinker, being able to adapt to new additions to a fight on the fly.

Maki Oze

Maki Oze from Fire Force flexing her twin cobras

Maki Oze is a first-class Company 8 soldier with incredible strength. Her military background has gifted her with an impressive physique, and her ability to work with a team has landed her many friends in her job.

Maki Oze, much like Yor, seems like the ideal co-worker, demure and helpful at first glance. However, they are also incredibly strong fighters. When the cards start stacking up against her, Maki Oze dishes out the fire with her incredible hand-to-hand combat expertise.

Motoko Kusanagi

Ghost in the Shell SAC 2045 Motoko Kusanagi

Motoko Kusanagi, otherwise known as “The Major”, is a full-conversion cyborg who is almost completely cybernetic. These cybernetics give her incredible strength and a whole host of abilities, making her a deadly operative. Still, that doesn’t mean she’s completely heartless.

Motoko, like Yor, both operate in black ops missions to maintain some sort of status quo. While they are capable of being polite and friendly, they are nothing but business once on the job. Their calm and matter-of-fact approach to deadly situations is arguably even scarier than their enhanced strength.

Mirko

Mirko from My Hero Academia flexing her arm and looking serious

Mirko is Japan’s 5th-ranked hero, and she does so all alone. Being a lone vigilante, Mirko spends her time constantly training her body to be at peak physical condition. With her quirk “Rabbit”, her legs become deadly limbs capable of high jumps and fatal kicks.

Much like Yor, Mirko is blessed with incredible strength. In particular, both of them seem to have a fondness for kicks and jumping around in battle. Unlike Yor, however, Mirko revels in the fighting in a way the professional Yor usually doesn’t show. That is why Mirko is the strongest female hero in the current timeline of MHA.

Mitsuri Kanroji

Demon Slayer's Mitsuri Kanroji

Mitsuri Kanroji, otherwise known as the “Love Hashira”, is a powerful woman despite her seemingly nice exterior. Mitsuri’s unique physiology makes her have a voracious appetite, as well as eight times the strength of a regular man. Still, she’s one of the nicest of the Hashira, being the only one who speaks to Nezuko.

Much like Yor, she’s rather awkward and scatterbrained with love despite being a romantic person. Her strength and profession means finding a suitable suitor was very hard to do. Still, that doesn’t stop either of them from being very effective in their jobs.

Morgiana

Morgiana smiling at her friends

Morgiana was a former slave freed by Aladdin and Alibaba during their adventures, and she is forever grateful for it. As a member of the Fanalis Tribe, she has incredible physical strength, allowing her to fight monsters 10 times her size.

Both Yor and Morgiana are incredibly thankful to their adoptive families. They would protect them from all harm to the best of their ability, and they do so out of the goodness of their hearts. That said, they are both still socially awkward due to their pasts, and their families help them acclimate.

Tsunade

Tsunade releases the seal on her body to activate her chakra lines in Naruto Shippuden

Tsunade is introduced as a rather abrasive woman who would rather gamble all day than taking on any real responsibility. However, it’s soon revealed that Tsunade wasn’t called a “Legendary Sannin” for no reason. Her incredible skills in ninjutsu as well as her natural physical strength make her one of the most powerful ninjas in Naruto.

Much like Yor, they are both incredibly powerful women who can’t seem to hold their liquor. When drunk, they lose all inhibition and start embarrassing themselves. People are lucky if they don’t end up being punched either. Still, they are both good people at heart who are willing to put their lives on the line for the people they care for.

Hibiki Tachibana

Hibiki Tachibana smiles proudly during battle

Hibiki Tachibana is a teenager with the ability to summon a Symphogear that grows more powerful with singing. Her control over it is unfortunately on the weaker side, meaning she can’t do any of the complex weaponry that Symphogears are capable of. However, she makes up for it in pure physical grit.

Like Yor, she is naturally strong but not too bright academically. They tend to deal with fights through brute strength, and thankfully, both of them have it in great supply. Only for Hibiki, her Symphgear makes her punches strong enough to knock out entire fleets of enemies.

Android 18

Android 18 from the Dragon Ball anime series.

Android 18 is the other half of the killer Androids that terrorized the Z warriors during the Cell arc. By the end of it, she surprisingly ends up falling in love with Krillin, and together, they start a family. Despite her great strength, she is content living the peaceful life she’s always wanted.

Like Yor, Android 18 is very protective of her family. Although she likes to tease all of them, she would go to heaven and back to protect her brother, daughter, and husband. This being Dragonball, she probably could beat King Kai and take them back anyway (after a trip for the Dragonballs).
