Spider-Man Star Tom Holland Stole Props From Every Marvel Movie

Tom Holland admitted he stole props from every Marvel movie. The British actor is best known for playing everyone’s favorite neighborhood Spider Man in Marvel movies ranging from Captain America: Civil War to the more recent Spider Man: Far From Home. 

Marvel fans were first introduced to Holland’s version of the iconic web slinger in Captain America: Civil War, where Peter Parker first met Tony Stark. Parker met the rest of the Avengers during the infamous battle at the airport. After Parker got his feet wet battling against other superheroes, he fought his own first major villain in his first solo movie, Spider Man: Homecoming. Although Spider Man had to deal with the aftermath of losing his mentor Tony Stark in Far From Home, the character became embroiled in real life controversy. Spider Man was almost snapped out of existence from the MCU due to a botched deal with Sony, who owns the rights to Spider Man. Thankfully, a drunk call from Holland to Disney CEO Bob Iger helped Spider Man remain in the MCU for now. Is it any wonder Holland would want just a few mementos from his time on Marvel movie sets?

In a BBC1 radio segment where kids ask stars difficult questions, Holland admitted that he had stolen props from multiple Marvel movies. Holland confessed to taking web shooters from a Spider Man suit and Tony Stark’s glasses. The star said he tried but failed to take an actual Spider Man suit. When asked if he could get in trouble for it Holland gave a classic response Peter Parker would be proud of, “Well I haven’t so far.” Check out the hilarious interview below.

While the MCU is populated with a vast plethora of interesting and eclectic characters, Holland’s portrayal of Spider Man was a refreshing and necessary dose of comic relief that balanced out many serious Marvel moments. Holland’s Peter Parker also could get serious when the plot called for it. (Fans still tear up over Peter’s famous line in Avengers: Infinity War. “Mr. Stark, I don’t feel so good,” right before Spider Man was dusted by Thanos’s snap.) It’s always a risk when a popular character gets rebooted with a brand new actor, but the MCU was and will continue to be well served by Holland’s wise cracking Spider Man.

From Peter Parker’s father-son bonding moments with Tony Stark that warmed hearts worldwide to Spider Man potentially leading the MCU, Holland has portrayed the character admirably. Fans wouldn’t have been so upset over Spider Man leaving the MCU for Sony if they didn’t like Holland’s depiction of the character, and that’s a testament to Holland’s acting ability. At the end of the day, Peter Parker is a teenage boy in high school who just happens to be an Avenger, and Holland’s comic yet nuanced portrayal never lets the audience forget that fact. The future of Spider Man may remain up in the air past Spider-Man 3 but rest assured, Holland won’t spoil the outcome. However, he may steal a prop or two.
