Spider-Man Miles Morales Gets Heroic Assist in New Preview

Spider-Man Miles Morales Gets Heroic Assist in New Preview

Warning: contains a preview for Miles Morales: Spider-Man Annual #1!

A new preview involving Miles Morales as Spider-Man features Amulet, a hero not often seen. Miles Morales: Spider-Man Annual #1 is going to give the titular hero some back-up as he faces a monster. Monsters are Amulet’s usual foe, making this an ideal team-up.

Amulet, the alter ego of Fadi Fadlalah, is a newer hero who debuted in Magnificent Ms. Marvel #13 in 2020. He’s a Lebanese hero who has only had a few minor appearances in the series that he debuted in. Now, he’ll be making a new friend as his world and Miles’ collide.

A new preview for Miles Morales: Spider-Man Annual #1 has been shared by Marvel. This annual issue has the creative team of Jed Mackay, Saladin Ahmed, Luca Mareca, Fernando Sifuentes, Juan Ferreyra, Vc Joe Caramagna, and Vc Cory Petit. Within the preview, Miles next threat can be seen – as well as the return of Amulet, who has been absent from comics as of late. Check out the images and solicit information below:

Miles Morales is investigating a series of monster attacks in Brooklyn when he runs into Ms. Marvel’s friend and ally Amulet. Together, they connect the monsters to a series of cursed magical objects. But who activated them? And why? And can Spider-Man and Amulet find out before the monsters take them down too?

In this issue, Miles has changed up his routine, patrolling in Red Hook – an area that significantly lessens his ability to use all of his powers. While hopping rooftops instead of swinging, he comes across a monster – a giant satyr/cyclops hybrid. This monster is unaffected by Miles’ venom blasts and is exceedingly fast. It is a very dangerous foe and if his new friend doesn’t step in, this fight could turn deadly for Spider-Man. Lucky for him, Amulet also happens to be in the neighborhood. Following his debut, Amulet only appeared in two other comic issues – both of which were Magnificent Ms. Marvel. Otherwise, he hasn’t had much of a presence and he hasn’t really appeared with any heroes besides Kamala Khan. This seems to be changing however, now that he is jumping to help Miles Morales.

In previous appearances, Amulet has helped when demons and ghuls are involved, as well as once when Kamala needed an assist on a rooftop. Now it’s Miles who needs help on a rooftop. While many readers likely won’t recognize him due to how infrequently he shows up, this could be the start of Amulet having a broader appearance within Marvel Comics. If he has more hero friends besides Kamala, he has more chances of popping up in other series. This also makes sense since Miles and Kamala are friends, so a team-up of all three heroes could lie ahead sometime in the future. Although he isn’t one of Marvel’s most popular or most used characters right now, Amulet could be making his way up in the comic world by gaining new allies like Spider-Man. Miles Morales: Spider-Man Annual #1 will release August 18, 2021.
