Spider-Man Is Cosplaying as Another MCU Hero for Marvel’s Hellfire Gala

Warning! Spoilers for Moon Knight: Black, White and Blood #1 by Marvel Comics

Marvel’s Spider-Man has taken a different approach to his costume of choice for the upcoming Hellfire Gala hosted by the X-Men, as the web-slinger is borrowing a look from Moon Knight for the high-fashion event. In Moon Knight: Black, White and Blood #1 by Marvel Comics, Spider-Man convinces Moon Knight to lend him his Mr. Knight costume, which Peter Parker will seemingly cosplay with at the upcoming mutant event.

The upcoming Hellfire Gala 2022 event from Marvel Comics will see heroes and villains trade in their usual costumes for some striking high-fashion ensembles. Looks revealed so far include Black Widow’s darker ensemble which gives the assassin a radically different costume, Wolverine’s costume that puts a stunning twist on Logan’s legacy, and Scarlet Witch getting a magical outfit that is a look she always deserved. So far, the looks have all been high-fashion recreations of iconic costumes. However, Spider-Man is doing things differently, as he’s going to cosplay as Mr. Knight at the event.

In Moon Knight: Black, White and Blood #1 by Murewa Ayodele and Dotun Akande from Marvel Comics, Moon Knight reluctantly teams up with Spider-Man to take on a group of ghosts. However, the web-slinger has his own vendetta in the meeting with the hero, as, during the mission, he asks Moon Knight why he won’t let him borrow his Mr. Knight suit for the upcoming Hellfire Gala. Spider-Man even jokes if it were Captain America, Moon Knight wouldn’t oblige. However, much to the surprise of Spider-Man, Moon Knight relents after the battle and agrees to let him borrow his iconic suit – with an important rule.

Moon Knight tells Spider-Man that if he does any “freaky role-play stuff,” not to return the costume and burn it. He even jokes that if he hugs him as a thank you, he’ll repeat his darkest Marvel Comics kill ever and slice his face off. Hilariously, Spider-Man isn’t the only hero who wants to cosplay as Mr. Knight at the Hellfire Gala, as the issue ends with Deadpool asking him if he can also borrow a suit.

Moon Knight’s Mr. Knight costume is one of his most recognizable looks and technically works as a high-fashion ensemble for the Hellfire Gala. Still, it’s somewhat surprising that Spider-Man somehow convinced Moon Knight to agree to let him cosplay as Mr. Knight as he decided to do something different with his costume at the mutant event. Hopefully, readers get to see Spider-Man cosplaying as Moon Knight at the upcoming Hellfire Gala event, as it will undoubtedly draw questions – and potentially concerns – from his fellow heroes in attendance.
