Southern Charm consists of the upper-class society of Charleston, South Carolina, which has opened its private gates for the past few seasons as many were given a front-row seat to Kathryn Dennis’ centuries-old plantation home, Craig Conover’s love of sewing, and what it’s like for a trust fund baby to not lift a finger like Shep Rose. Since 2013, the men and women of Charleston have welcomed the cameras into their lives, which showed their inner circle drama. However, after several seasons, it’s clear not everything is perfect in the South.

In January 2023, original cast member Kathryn Dennis announced that she wouldn’t return to the Bravo series. According to People, she said, “It hasn’t always been easy, but I’m so lucky to have had reality cameras there, capturing so many moments that I’ll never forget (and a few, even, that I’d like to).” Additionally, Madison LeCroy told the outlet she was returning, coming in “full throttle.” Southern Charm season 9 returned on September 14.

Kathryn isn’t the only cast member not returning for Southern Charm season 9. Naomie Olindo wasn’t seen in the trailer after her return last season, as well as Chleb Ravenell. Madison returned as a full-timer with her husband, Brett Randle, who was spotted in the trailer. Along with Madison, other returning Southern Charm cast members include Craig, Shep, Austen Kroll, Olivia Flowers, Taylor Ann Green, Leva Boneparte, Venita Aspen, and Whitney Sudler-Smith. As for the new faces, three men joined the cast: Jarrett Thomas, Rodrigo Reyes, and Rod Razavi.

The Southern Charm season 9 trailer was released on August 3 and announced a premiere date of September 14 (via Queens of Bravo on Instagram). The trailer addresses the ongoing rumor that Austen and Taylor had secretly hooked up, while Madison seemingly goes through a pregnancy scare, later revealing that she had a “pelvic fracture during the delivery.” There is also more back and forth between Craig and his Summer House girlfriend, Paige DeSorbo, about whether they should get married, while one of the newbies wants to ask Olivia out on a date. So far, Southern Charm season 9 is already shaping up to be a wild ride.
