Taylor Ann Green and Olivia Flowers from Southern Charm season 9 may no longer be friends after Taylor was accused of hooking up with Olivia’s ex, Austen Kroll. Olivia and Taylor became friends last year after Olivia joined the cast of the Bravo series. She was dating Austen, at the time, but the two never became exclusive. Despite their non-exclusivity, Olivia and Austen still had a relationship that meant something to both of them. After Austen and Olivia ended things and Taylor broke up with Shep Rose after two years of dating, Olivia and Taylor became closer.
For Taylor, Shep was her first real adult break-up. She believed she and Shep were end game and that they would one day start a family together. However, with the constant cheating rumors and Shep’s unwillingness to grow their relationship past boyfriend and girlfriend, Taylor knew it was time to end their romance. With both Taylor and Austen vulnerable, mixed with their close friendship, the pair began to lean on each other for comfort. However, it seems Taylor and Austen were doing a lot more than just comforting each other.
Olivia Is Questioning Taylor & Austen’s Relationship Timeline
During last week’s episode of Southern Charm, Taylor dropped a bomb on Olivia regarding her friendship with Austen. It was revealed during a guys’ hang-out that Taylor had stayed the night at Austen’s (platonically), and Austen wanted Taylor to know people were talking about it. Taylor immediately called Olivia to hang out and let her know, while also telling her that she and Austen were thinking about exploring a relationship. Olivia was in shock and could barely look at Taylor after she told her. After their conversation, they both went back to their cars, and Olivia immediately broke down in tears.
In Southern Charm‘s most recent episode, Olivia started to question Austen and Taylor’s timeline. “Taylor told me that she and Austen had a conversation about possibly being in a relationship. The timeline of it though … is what knocked the wind out of me,” she said to Shep. Taylor and Austen had the relationship conversation after filming the Southern Charm season 7 reunion in September 2022, but Olivia says Austen was trying to get back together by the end of that year. The whole situation is messy and isn’t sitting right with Olivia, especially because she considers Taylor a close friend.
Taylor Reportedly Hooked Up With Austen
Back in March, it was reported by several news outlets that Taylor and Austen had hooked up. Their alleged hook-up happened sometime at the beginning of filming Southern Charm season 9, which is currently airing. According to Page Six, Taylor and Austen are going to “try to say they only made out,” but as the season unfolds, “it gets revealed to be more than that.” This was likely the beginning of the end of Taylor and Olivia’s friendship.
While it is unclear what the true nature of Taylor and Austen’s relationship was at the start of the season, it seems like they were more than friends for a short time. Olivia likely feels betrayed by both Taylor and Austen, but mostly Taylor since the two have developed a friendship over the last couple of years. They leaned on each other after their respective breakups, so Taylor hooking up with Austen is a slap in the face of the friendship.
Olivia Doesn’t Follow Taylor On Instagram
A true indication of whether or not two people are still friends is by checking who they are following on Instagram. Currently, Olivia does not follow Taylor on Instagram; however, Taylor does follow Olivia on the social media platform. It seems Olivia is still not over Taylor’s betrayal, while Taylor may be hoping to salvage her friendship with Olivia.
While they may not be outright feuding, Taylor and Olivia have hit some rough waters in their relationship. Hooking up with a friend’s ex is never a good idea, and Olivia may simply need her space right now. Hopefully, Taylor and Olivia can try and fix their friendship before the Southern Charm season 9 reunion. If not, next season is going to be an interesting one.
