South Park: How Old The Characters Are In Post Covid’s Future Timeline

Warning: Contains spoilers for South Park: Post Covid

The main cast of South Park have aged considerably in the new special, South Park: Post Covid – but how old exactly are they all now? South Park is a show that doesn’t focus too much on how old the characters are supposed to be, mostly due to a combination of acting on a floating timeline to keep people from aging and having the child leads engage with subject matter kids wouldn’t be expected to be involved with. Nevertheless, there are a few instances when the passage of time does come into play, and it’s important to be able to keep track of it all.

South Park: Post Covid revolves around the boys getting into an adventure after the world has finally recovered from the pandemic – save for Kenny, who has died another death, only now there’s a conspiracy surrounding his demise. South Park being as satirical as it is, it took decades for everyone in the world to get their act together and stamp out COVID for a return to normalcy – albeit normalcy in a futuristic setting. As a result, when the cast of South Park reappears for the first time since the South ParQ Vaccination Special of March 2021, it features all of the children as adults and all of the adults as elderly citizens.

Once again, the following is a guide to how old the boys are supposed to be at the current point in the show. South Park: Post Covid marks one of the few times when the show has marked a significant passage of time, other notable instances being the season 4 episode “4th Grade” when the kids all moved up to the fourth grade, and the season 15 episode “You’re Getting Old” when Stan turned ten. With the passage of time rarely being acknowledged in a significant way, it would make sense for people to be confused about how old everyone is supposed to be, but it’s not as complicated as it might initially seem.

How Old South Park’s Kids Are In The Main Timeline

As previously stated, the main quartet of Stan, Kyle, Cartman, and Kenny, along with their friends, have all been in the fourth grade since the South Park episode of season four “4th Grade”. After that, the show has largely operated on a floating timeline that kept them all the same age while adjusting the time period of the story so things would always be in modern times. Still, Stan definitively turned ten in season 15’s “You’re Getting Old”, so it stands to reason that the other kids are all also about ten years old.

South Park: Post Covid moves the setting decades forward into the future – forty years, to be exact. With the kids all having been in the fourth grade previously, the setting jumping ahead forty years means that they should all be about fifty years old; at the same time, that would likely put their parents and the other adults in the show somewhere in their seventies or eighties. With a major part of the plot being the South Park characters trying to use time travel to stop the pandemic and change the future, it’s likely that none of that will stick and the show will return to the status quo, but as it currently stands, this the current age of the South Park kids as adults.
