Solar Opposites Season 2 Trailer: A Murder Investigation Inside The Wall [EXCLUSIVE]

A new Solar Opposites season 2 trailer debuting exclusively here on Screen Rant previews the murder investigation inside the Wall. Hailing from Rick & Morty co-creator Justin Roiland, Solar Opposites follows a family of aliens from outer space who end up taking refuge in the midwest, for better or worse. Roiland voices Korvo, the designated leader of the group of aliens on Earth and the one who most wants to get off the planet.

In the first season, Yumyulack creates a system of interconnected terrariums in his room, dubbed the Wall, and shrinks humans and places them inside to study their behavior. Alfred Molina plays the Wall’s tyrannical leader, The Duke, who faces a resistance led by Lindsey Tim (Andy Daly) and Cherie (Christina Hendricks). Defeated in the first season, the Duke is killed, but not before Tim sees the hidden hole that the Duke uses to go outside the Wall. Choosing the keep the hole a secret, Tim kills Cherie and decides to take control of the Wall himself.

Solar Opposites’ new trailer teases the tumultuous aftermath of the revolution inside the Wall with a murderer on the loose to add some tension. Sterling K. Brown joins the second season as Halk, a new resident of the Wall and former producer of Bones tasked with solving the murder. He is also a war hero of the Resistance, with the trailer showing flashbacks to his fight against the Duke’s forces. All of this is set against the rising political tension as to what really happened at the end of the Resistance and whether or not Tim will be able to hold onto his position as the new leader of the Wall. Roiland’s unique ability to tell layered stories has proven highly successful for Hulu. Solar Opposites was originally ordered to series with two seasons, and a twelve-episode third season was quickly ordered after the premiere of the first season. Roiland has found himself quite busy over the last few years with Solar Opposites. He’s also been hard at work on Rick & Morty, arguably one of the most popular adult-oriented animated series of all time.

Rick & Morty season 5 is set to premiere in June, giving Roiland plenty of time to work on Solar Opposites‘ third season, which is currently undated. The murder mystery inside the Wall is only half of Solar Opposites‘ story, but it’s just as engaging as the main through-line of the fish-out-of-water alien family. All of Solar Opposites‘ episodes are now available on streaming, and with the first and second season premiering within just under a year, the third season is likely already on the way.

Solar Opposites Season 2 is Now Streaming on Hulu.
