The third wife of Kody Brown, Christine Brown, has told Sister Wives fans that she considers herself divorced. The couple has been at odds for years and finally called their marriage off in November. Now, Christine is looking forward to moving on without her ball and chain of 25 years.
The finality of Kody and Christine’s marriage can be attributed to multiple factors, but fans would argue it was the lack of love that finished them off. Kody is no stranger to being criticized by fans for how he has treated all of his wives, especially Christine. The patriarch has come under fire for often gaslighting Cristine and manipulating her. Over 25 years of marriage, the two revealed their union was never easy. Now that Christine has moved back to Utah she is officially recognizing herself as divorced and giving herself permission to date.
Part two of the Sister Wives tell-all surprised fans thanks to Christine’s honesty about her marriage to Kody. During the interview, Christine made sure to clarify the status of her union, with Kody telling viewers, “I just think that God’s fine if I just want to be happy.” The mother of six went on to say that she hasn’t been a member of her church for a long time, noting that in their church, polygamists can leave. According to Sister Wives star, no one is trapped in an unhappy marriage. The remarks came after Robyn Brown revealed she didn’t consider Kody or Christine divorced.
Kody’s fourth wife told the host that in her head, since church officials did their marriage, they have to be granted a divorce through them. The defiant Christine was having none of it as she quickly took control of the subject, making it clear that no authority was going to keep her married to Kody. Christine then clarified any misconceptions by saying that she and Kody were completely divorced and separated.
Sister Wives viewers will recall that Kody and Christine were never legally married in the eyes of the law. The duo had been spiritually married since 1994 and called it quits at the end of 2021. Season 16 highlighted their major issues as the season showed how their marriage became too toxic for either one of them. Along with a major lack of intimacy, the two just couldn’t see eye to eye. Hopefully, each star can now move on to better people.
