Silent Hill Pyramid Head Cosplay Video Looks Like a Horror Movie

Silent Hill fan decided to cosplay as the iconic antagonist Pyramid Head, and the result is terrifying. Konami’s iconic, dormant horror game series is known for a number of popular staples and moments, and Pyramid Head has risen to prominence as one of the most feared and recognizable video game enemies of all time. It is because of this significant reputation that fans have long imitated Pyramid Head through meticulously detailed Silent Hill cosplays.

The legacy of Pyramid Head is a somewhat conflicted one. Originally introduced in Silent Hill 2, Pyramid Head was intended to represent protagonist James Sunderland’s guilt and shattered psyche following the death of his wife. Although the monster is a manifestation of James’ specific trauma, his popularity and simple-yet-unsettling design encouraged Konami to include him in several other Silent Hill games and movies that were entirely separate from the story of James Sunderland. Most recently, Pyramid Head showed up in Dead by Daylight, which is not even part of Silent Hill canon. Because of this, many fans have come to consider Pyramid Head a symbol of what went wrong with the Silent Hill franchise and Konami as a whole. The artist behind Pyramid Head has even disavowed the character, stating that he wishes he never designed it.

Controversial history and conflicting opinions of the character aside, Pyramid Head remains a popular video game character to cosplay as. One of the more impressive recent cosplays comes from Reddit user Pm-Me_Your_Passion, who shared a short clip of their cosplay to the Dead By Daylight subreddit. The video looks like something straight out of a horror movie, with the cosplayer perfectly replicating the menacing gait and mannerisms of the character (even if the knife grip is slightly off). The clip is also perfectly accented by original Silent Hill music, highlighting the character’s disturbing aesthetic.

My Pyramid Head ! from deadbydaylight

Pyramid Head will likely always be a controversial character, as the monster serves as a reminder of what Silent Hill could have been. At this point, there may even be more players that know Pyramid Head from cosplays and the many memes surrounding the Silent Hill antagonist’s rear end than from Silent Hill 2 itself. This clip being shared to the Dead by Daylight subreddit rather than one connected to Silent Hill is further proof of how detached the character has become from the core series.

With that said, this cosplay from Pm-Me_Your_Passion is without a doubt impressive, and it clearly captures the spirit of the character. As long as dedicated and talented fans continue to pay tribute to villains and characters from the series, the Silent Hill legacy is sure to live on for years to come, regardless of what Konami does with the IP down the road.
