An amazing cosplay of Silent Hill 3 protagonist Heather Mason, also known as Cheryl, is pulled straight from the terrifying titular town. While Silent Hill 2 saw brand-new characters travel through the town’s nightmarish streets, the third installment in the survival horror franchise directly continues the storyline of the first game. Based on crossovers like Cheryl Mason appearing in Dead By Daylight, the tough teenager is among the most beloved figures from the iconic Konami series.
While she is the playable character in Silent Hill 3, Heather Mason also plays an essential role in the terrifying franchise’s first installment. In Silent Hill players control Harry Mason, who must face horror and battle monsters while searching Silent Hill for his lost daughter Cheryl. By the end of the game Cheryl is merged with a supernatural being named Alessa, but the canon ending of the game sees Harry defeat the resulting monstrosity to produce an infant reincarnation of his daughter. The reborn Cheryl, now known as Heather, eventually returns to the town as the protagonist of Silent Hill 3. While early plans would have made Silent Hill 3 an arcade shooter, the final version of the game is a survival horror classic with Heather as the survivor.
Twitch streamer BriarFire_ successfully transformed themselves into a breathtaking replica of Silent Hill 3 heroine Heather Mason. The skilled survivalist’s iconic design includes a white vest atop an orange sweater, which is effectively recreated in real life. BriarFire_ really goes the extra mile by perfectly replicating Heather’s facial features through natural looks, makeup and hair styling. The result is a cosplay of Heather, apparently created for a Twitch livestream, that looks like it was pulled straight out of Silent Hill 3. Or perhaps BriarFire_ is simply another reincarnation of Cheryl.

Alongside cosplayers like BriarFire_, other Silent Hill 3 fans have paid tribute to Heather in their own way. A Silent Hill 3 meme in Animal Crossing, for example, sees Heather leave the blood-soaked streets of Silent Hill to enter the harmlessly wholesome world of Nintendo’s social simulation series. One part of Silent Hill 3 sees players cut through a bakery, and examining a stock of bread makes Heather infamously muse, “it’s bread.” Paying tribute to the silly scene, an Animal Crossing: New Horizons player recreated Heather Mason in-game alongside the bakery and its abundance of bread.
Heather Mason is of the most memorable survival horror protagonists of all time, standing alongside other icons like Resident Evil’s Jill Valentine and Dead Space’s Isaac Clarke. Briarfire flawlessly brings this complex character to life, ironically passing for an actual reincarnation of the supernatural figure. While many fans are waiting for a new Silent Hill game, this Heather Mason cosplay is a great way to celebrate the past installments in the Silent Hill series.
