Shereé Whitfield Admits She Had Reservations About Returning To RHOA

The OG of The Real Housewives of Atlanta, Shereé Whitfield, has finally returned for season 14, and she recently shared her reservations about coming back to the show. When fans first saw Shereé in RHOA season 1, she was navigating her life after divorce from her ex-husband Bob Whitfield while raising her children Tierra, Kairo, and Kaleigh. Shereé soon became a household name with her memorable line, “Who gon’ check me boo?” and the famous divorce party from season 2.

After RHOA season 4, Shereé decided to leave the show, stating that she was tired of the fighting and cattiness among the cast members. The She by Shereé designer came back as a “friend of” in RHOA season 8 and returned as a full cast member for seasons 9 and 10 but decided to leave the show again, citing a “low ball” offer from Bravo as the reason. Shereé also shared that she wanted to focus more time on her businesses and family.

Shereé made her return yet again for RHOA season 14 and recently shared on Behind the Velvet Rope with David Yontef that she felt that it was a good time for her “mentally, physically, and emotionally,” to come back. However, she did have some trepidation going in and revealed, “When I talked to the higher-ups, that was something that I voiced to them that I’m not really interested in, you know, going back to something that was so draining, so negative…it’s just very toxic.” Shereé told the Bravo executives that she wanted RHOA to go back to the original concept of strong-minded women who speak their minds but also enjoy each others’ company.

Despite Shereé’s intentions to have a more peaceful, fun-loving season, she was met with drama from castmate Drew Sidora. Shereé addressed her feud with Drew and told David, “I didn’t have an issue with Drew. I didn’t know Drew. Drew came for me and she started making up storylines like this.” Shereé seemed to think that the actress had it out for her in RHOA season 14 and shared, “The only thing I can think of is that she’s really needing to change her narrative of the s*** show between her and her husband. Who better than to come for than the queen?” Shereé revealed that she was also upset with Kandi Burruss for not coming to her directly with the rumors Drew was spreading about her, but they made amends when Kandi apologized.

RHOA fans were excited to see Shereé back on the show, and this time, she is opening up more about her personal life. Viewers will finally get to see her relationship with Tyrone Gilliams play out, which wasn’t easy for Shereé to film. After being stood up by the recently released inmate, Shereé stated that she went through a roller-coaster of emotions. Fans are also happy to see her friendship with Kenya Moore take on a more positive turn after years of feuding over who had the best house. With Chateau Shereé and her clothing line She by Shereé coming out soon, Shereé has much to share in season 14, and hopefully the third time’s the charm for The Real Housewives of Atlanta star.
