Shang-Chi Star Simu Liu Will Be A Game Awards 2021 Presenter

Simu Liu, star of Marvel’s Shang-Chi, will be a presenter during next week’s airing of The Game Awards 2021. This year’s Geoff Keighley-hosted award ceremony is returning to its in-person format, following the digital-only celebration that aired in December 2020. Nominations for The Game Awards made the rounds in mid-November, with the likes of Deathloop, Ratchet & Clank, and Metroid Dread appearing on the Game of the Year list. More details about the live presentation itself have continuously surfaced in the days since then.

Yesterday, December 1, The Game Awards’ official Twitter account confirmed another presenter for the upcoming ceremony. Shang-Chi lead Simu Liu will appear during next week’s festivities to present, though it’s unclear if he will present an award to a winner or introduce one of the show’s various musical guests. Such news comes on the heels of The Game Awards confirming that Sting will perform his song from Netflix’s Arcane during the live show. Viewers can also expect the award ceremony to showcase between 40 to 50 games, according to Geoff Keighley. The host teased in a recent interview that 10 or more of the titles set to appear will be previously unseen projects. It seems this could go down as one of the most memorable years in Game Awards history, in the event that all goes according to plan.

The Game Awards 2021 air on Thursday, December 9 at 4:30 PM PT.
