After months of anticipation, Netflix has finally announced the release date for Selling Sunset season 5 and even gave a sneak peek at the newest female agent at the Oppenheim Group. The agents on Selling Sunset have had plenty of successes and struggles since fans last saw them on the series. From Heather Young’s fertility journey to Chrishell Stause and Christine Quinn possibly putting their differences aside, there are a number of storylines fans will be eager to see come next season.
Selling Sunset season 4 ended with plenty of tension in the office, with new agents and continued conflict. Beginning with Emma Hernan and Vanessa Villela joining the team, the already tense office dynamics became explosive. And to top it off, Christine and Emma shared about their mutual ex, Peter Cornell, making matters even worse. According to People, the popular Netflix series will be returning for a fifth season come April 22. Alongside the release date, Chelsea Lazkani was revealed to be joining the Selling Sunset season 5 cast. While fans have questioned the experience of the agents on the series, Chelsea brings plenty of prior knowledge about real estate from her time working at Rodeo Realty. While Chelsea is certainly qualified for the business side of the series, she also hopes to bring “diversity” to real estate through her appearance on Selling Sunset. As a strong, new female lead, Chelsea is set on representing “minorities” on the series, “able to push forward Black women” like herself to become high-profile real estate agents.
Selling Sunset Season 5 promises authenticity from the cast and a chance for a fresh look at the Oppenheim Group. While Selling Sunset can often feel superficial, new additions such as Emma and Chelsea appear to be realigning the narrative of the series. With the next season approaching, Chelsea shared that she is honored to be included in the cast and to be surrounded by “successful women” while at the Oppenheim Group. Motivated by her co-workers’ success, she too hopes to join in on some of the largest listings in the Hollywood hills with an exciting new season ahead. Hinting at “electric” content and a season like “nothing you’ve ever seen before on TV,” fans can expect a new, refreshing trajectory from the reality series.
While Chelsea shared a number of positive aspects of being on the series, she did share exciting insider info about what Selling Sunset season 5 holds for the cast. After four seasons rooted in drama and petty arguments amongst the staff at the Oppenheim Group, Chelsea appears to provide the hope and diversity needed to sustain the series. Full of surprises, a new cast member and plenty of inventive content, Selling Sunset season 5 will be a must-watch reality television event.
