Seasons 3 of Selling Sunset must have been really hard to film for Chrishell Stause. The newest season focuses on her tragic divorce with Justin Hartley and unfolds many inside details. Now, her ex-friend Vanderpump Rules star Scheana Shay is also here to spill some secrets. She reveals why she is not friends with Chrishell anymore.
Chrishell first appeared on Selling Sunset as a real-time real estate agent in 2019. At the time, she was married to Justin, who appears in a critically acclaimed family show, This Is Us. It was first released in September 2016 and received a lot of positive reviews from critics and audiences. Eventually, the show got renewed for more seasons, and now it’s running into its fifth season. The 43-year-old actor got immensely popular after the show was released. And it looks like that fame changed a lot of people around him, especially his wife. According to Chrishell’s ex-best friend Scheana Shay, the 39-year-old actress changed after her then-husband received so much media attention and praise.
Scheana revealed on her podcast Scheananigans with Scheana Shay why she’s not friends with Chrishell. While talking to Selling Sunset star Christine Quinn, she explained that the two were starting to “become pretty good friends” in 2017. At the time, Chrishell’s dog got hit by a car and killed, so Scheana messaged her condolences to Justin through social media. She recollected, “I was like, ‘Hey, what’s y’all’s new address? I want to send something for Chrishell. And he was just like ‘Oh, my god, that’s so sweet. Thank you so much, really tough time,’ and then he gives me the address and he’s like, ‘Hope to see you soon’ and I was like, ‘Yeah, for sure.” Later on, Scheana told her friend Jamie Lynne about the same incident, and she was shocked to find out that the Netflix star had already shared it with her, but not in a very positive light.
The 35-year-old revealed, “She then twists this conversation to Jamie and was like, ‘Oh, my god. How embarrassing. Scheana texted?’ I don’t remember what it was she said exactly, but it was just, like, ‘How embarrassing’ with a bunch of, like, monkey-with-the-hands-over-the-face (emojis).” And that was probably the end of whatever friendship these two had.
This podcast comes right after Justin’s comment that he’s “irritated” by how Chrishell is talking about their personal matters in public. He’s not happy with whatever his estranged wife has said on her show to her co-stars or during the confessionals. His source refuted the claims that his show’s fame has led to their split. The source stated the actress knows exactly what problems led to their separation. Many fans would agree that Chrishell is not an instantly likable character. She’s reserved, and one has to spend time with her to learn her personality and make her comfortable to talk. Still, it looks like Selling Sunset is getting dramatic and juicer by every season.
