Selling Sunset: Romain Addresses Cheating Rumors During Bachelor Party

Selling Sunset star Romain Bonnet did something to lose the trust of his wife, realtor Mary Fitzgerald. The 40-year-old found out that her husband lied to her about an incident at his bachelor party. Could cheating be the reason why Romain kept secrets from his wife?

Romain and Mary got engaged in season one and eventually got married by the end of season 2. Now, in the latest season, they have a lot of things to worry about. On the one hand, the real estate agent needs to get her eggs frozen if she wants to start a family with her French beau. On the other hand, they have to find and move into a bigger house. To top it all off, the newly married couple is now faced with trust issues after a sketchy incident. The mom of one learned that her husband lied to her about something that happened at his bachelor party in Las Vegas. Mary told Romain to not have any girls come back up to the hotel room booked by Jason and Brett Oppenheim for the occasion. But, the girls did come to the suite, and the 27-year-old didn’t explicitly share this piece of information with his wife.

In his defense, Romain says that he didn’t want to stress his partner while she was already exhausted with all the wedding planning. While talking to Refinery29 in an interview, Mary confirmed, “I was super stressed about the wedding. I just didn’t have enough time in the day.” The reality star also said that she trusts her husband, “1000%.” She also said, “He didn’t cheat on me. He didn’t do anything with the girls. The guys actually were laughing saying that the girls thought he was the rudest person they’ve ever met. They were trying to talk to him and they recognized him, and he wasn’t having any part of it.” While Mary believes that her husband is loyal, she’s upset that he lied to her. She explained, “It was hard to take because I was back here working so hard and trying to plan this wedding, and the lie was what I was focused on. I never thought he cheated. It was the lie.” Check out their adorable picture below:

Romain has made it clear he understands that he shouldn’t have lied to Mary in the first place. Although he was thinking about her mental peace, his lie made Mary even more stressed out. He said, “I was doing this in a good way and I didn’t want to stress her out, but it unfortunately didn’t turn out like I thought it would. Now, seeing the result, I would definitely tell her. Then, even if she gets mad, I think that would be best because I would never want to lie to her. I don’t think it was worth it.”

While the show didn’t provide a resolution to their conflict, the couple reveals that they did eventually make peace. Romain revealed, “And then she had the talk with Jason as well that was explaining more what happened.” Their talk was filmed, but not shown in the show. Perhaps, the producers decided to focus on two major plots at the time: Chrishell Stause’s divorce and Christine’s wedding.

Selling Sunset season 3 is available to watch on Netflix.
