Mary Fitzgerald is known for being a supportive friend to her co-stars on Selling Sunset. She was one of the more sincere shoulders to lean on when Chrishell Stause was going through her divorce last season. Now, Mary is sharing how she’s showing love to Chrishell amid her recent split with Keo Motsepe. In an exclusive interview with Screen Rant, Mary praised Chrishell for being “strong” during yet another public breakup.
Selling Sunset season 3 ended with Chrishell facing a new phase in her life as a single woman after her emotional separation from her ex-husband Justin Hartley. Chrishell had been married to the This Is Us star for two years before he decided to end things. On the show, she claimed to learn of his divorce filing through a text message he sent her. Blindsided by the news, Chrishell was an emotional wreck during filming. But, made it through the season with a brighter outlook on her future. She went on to compete on the latest season of Dancing With The Stars where she struck up a brief romance with pro dancer Keo Motsepe. However, the two recently decided to part ways and now the reality star is going through another breakup in the public eye.
While speaking exclusively with Screen Rant, Mary dished on how important it is for her to be there for her friends during tough times and how she’s lending her support to Chrishell during her latest breakup. “Everyone goes through tough times, so I always want to be there for anybody, whether or not I’m super close to them,” she said. “We’re all human, we all have feelings and go through stuff. So, I would hope that they would do the same for me.” When it comes to how she’s helping Chrishell deal with her latest relationship woes, Mary says that she’s letting “her do the talking, and I’m always here for her and support her.”
Mary then expanded on her current friendship with Chrishell, “I just want to be there for her, whatever she needs. If she wants to go out and have fun, if she wants to have a drink, or if she wants to just stay in bed and watch a movie, or someone to cuddle up next to her – whatever it is she needs, I’m there for her.” The realtor went on to praise Chrishell for showing strength during some of her darkest ordeals: “She’s one of the strongest people I’ve ever met,” Mary declared before noting Chrishell’s attitude towards her breakups. “She’s able to just move forward with things. Something happens, and she’s just strong,” Mary explained.
“She’s just like, ‘I don’t need this in my life. I want a good life,’ and so she’s on to the next. ‘I want only good in my life,’ and that’s just like the way her process is.” The Netflix star applauds Chrishell for handling her public relationship drama “with so much grace.” It’ll be nice to see how Mary and Chrishell’s friendship continues to develop in the next two seasons that were recently greenlit by Netflix.
