Selling Sunset: Chrishell Responds To Comedian’s Lesbian Daughter Joke

Selling Sunset‘s Chrishell Stause is clearing the air on a joke she responded to that was made by comedian Grace Kuhlenschmidt. Stause was introduced to the public as the newest real estate agent to join the Oppenheim Group and she quickly found herself in drama shortly after joining the team. Stause first bumped heads with Mary Fitzgerald when it became known that Stause was inquiring about the relationship between Fitzgerald and her then-boyfriend, now husband, Romain Bonnet. Though Fitzgerald quickly forgave Stause, Christine Quinn and Davina Potratz prolonged the feud which caused their friendships, and even work relationships, to be strained.

The original Netflix reality series also gave viewers insight into Stause’s relationships. When the series began, Stause was married to This Is Us actor, Justin Hartley. This marriage ended in divorce in 2019 and a while after this, Stause was tied to Dancing With The Stars dancer, Keo Motsepe, but this ended after three months. Shortly after the relationship with Motsepe ended, Stause found herself in a relationship with one of the bosses at her brokerage: Jason Oppenheim. This relationship did not last long and now the star has found herself in a relationship with Australian artist, G-Flip.

The two have been dating for a couple of months and just recently, they received backlash for going along with a joke made by Grace Kuhlenschmidt that said the couple had adopted an adult lesbian daughter from Facebook Marketplace. According to Us Weekly, when the fake story was first made public, Stause and G-Flip played along with the joke and said things like, “Jason punching the air. Thank you to all your well wishes for our bundle of joy,” and, “We are so so thrilled ❤️ thank you so much x.” Stause even shared a screenshot of the fake article on her Instagram story to further “thank” everyone for the well-wishes. Despite the couple thinking the joke was lighthearted, followers took it seriously and left Stause several comments about her decision. The real estate agent revisited her Instagram stories to let her followers know they should not take the situation as seriously. “They [SIC] amount of people in the comments & replies to this that don’t understatement that it is a JOKE is actually startling,” said Stause.

Stause admitted to wanting to share the comments persons left her but chose not to. Instead, she decided to firmly confirm that, “we did not adopt an adult for $36 on Facebook Marketplace. Lol.” Stause had also been receiving heavy criticism for her relationship with G Flip seeing that the star had always said she wanted children and even ended her relationship with Jason Oppenheim because they could not get on the same page regarding the situation. Many questioned why she was with the Australian artist if she wanted kids but Stause’s relationship does not change the fact that she wants to eventually have a family. While sharing that she is just enjoying her dating life right now, Stause said, “I am hoping to have a family but I’ve also taken some of the pressure off myself as far as what that looks like. I don’t necessarily have to have the child myself — [I’m] open to adoption, things like that,” according to the reports from Us Weekly.

Season 5 of Selling Sunset has just ended and though information on renewal for season 6 has not been announced by Netflix, news reports had stated that the show was renewed for seasons 6 and 7, but the cast will take a break before filming. While taking a break from filming, Stause will appear on ITV’s Celebrity Karaoke Club. The series will premiere on ITV2 and ITV Hub in the summer and joining Stause as cast members will be Love Island stars Laura Anderson and Kaz Kamwi, RuPaul’s Drag Race star A’Whora, and many other celebrities.
