Selling Sunset: All The Ways Chrishell & Jason Weren’t Compatible

Amid Selling Sunset stars Chrishell Stause and Jason Oppenheim’s breakup announcement, fans are noticing all the ways they weren’t right for each other. The co-stars and co-workers dated for several months and first confirmed that they were together over the summer. However, shortly after season 4 aired, the pair announced their split. Fans were expecting to find out more about their romance in season 5. Now, unless their breakup was filmed for the next season, it looks like the pair might not ever showcase their love on the show.

Chrishell and Jason both shared statements informing their followers that they were no longer a couple. Jason admitted their separation stemmed from issues over starting a family. Chrishell wants to have a family, and Jason doesn’t appear to be on the same page. Chrishell and Jason have realized they weren’t meant to be a couple. While her divorce is finalized, she is still technically a recent divorcee, who used to be married to This is Us star, Justin Hartley. Meanwhile, Jason has maintained steady relationships with different women over the years, without ever settling down and tying the knot.

In addition to one wanting children when the other didn’t, Chrishlle and Jason are also in two different places in their lives. Jason is the second person Chrishell briefly dated following her divorce. She enjoyed a short-lived romance with Dancing With the Stars pro dancer, Keo Motsepe. The two parted ways around Valentine’s Day. Chrishell was only single for a few months when she ended up sparking a romantic flame with her boss, Jason. Working together at The Oppenheim Group and co-starring on the show may have impacted their dynamic as a couple, adding pressures that eventually tore them apart.

Meanwhile, Jason has seemingly always played the field. Despite dating an array of different women, he has never walked down the aisle. Among his exes is fellow Oppenheim Group agent, Mary Fitzgerald. While Jason claims that Chrishell was his best girlfriend ever, it can’t be argued that they weren’t able to make it to a full year of dating. Is Jason too much of a bachelor to want to settle down and have kids? Or is Chrishell still getting over her ex-husband, and reluctant to settle into another serious relationship so soon? When it came to their relationship, the odds were most definitely against them. Shortly after Jason and Chrishell’s breakup was announced, rumors surfaced that claimed his twin brother Brett Oppenheim also split from his girlfriend, Tina Louise. If that’s true, maybe Jason and Brett are happy being bachelors for life.

Fans were expecting the romance to be included in season 5. If it was, the other agents would be sure to voice their opinions. There is no way they would stay quiet about Chrishell and Jason’s relationship. The dynamic would have caused more drama than either of them could handle. Despite being good friends with Mary and Heather Rae Young, Chrishell’s archenemy Christine Quinn would have likely found a way to ruffle Chrishell’s feathers about dating Jason. It was best for the Selling Sunset stars to part ways and continue on as friends and co-workers, instead of boyfriend and girlfriend. Maybe fans will find out why next season.
