Seinfeld‘s George Costanza becomes a Street Fighter character in a new piece of art, and he does so with one of his most memorable quotes from the show. First airing in 1989, Jerry Seinfeld and Larry David’s hit sitcom would go on to become one of the most popular shows of a generation, following the titular lead comedian character and his friends as they go about their daily lives in New York City. Jason Alexander stars as part of the Seinfeld cast as George Costanza, with the character responsible for many of the show’s most iconic moments.
A new piece of art shared by @countgate on X, formerly known as Twitter, now recontextualizes one of George’s best moments from Seinfeld as a character introduction in the Street Fighter video game. Check out inventive art below:
The line in question, “Well, the jerk store called and they’re running out of you,” was featured in season 8, episode 12, titled “The Comeback,” with one of the episode’s storylines involving George seeking revenge against a coworker.
Seinfeld’s Supporting Characters Are Why The Show Works

Regardless of the quality of the jokes themselves, a sitcom needs compelling characters in order to become popular and achieve success. Seinfeld himself is a proven commodity as a comedian, but his comedy truly shines in the show because of the characters around him.
Many of Seinfeld‘s best jokes and moments, for example, involve characters like George, Elaine (Julia Louis-Dreyfus), and Kramer (Michael Richards). Not only do the characters themselves get great lines and physical gags, but they give Jerry’s laid back sarcasm something to bounce off of. George, for instance, is somewhat uptight and neurotic, while Kramer is a complete wildcard, and these qualities play well off of Jerry’s.
Beyond the core group of friends, Seinfeld‘s guest stars and side characters are also a big part of why the show achieved such acclaim. Figures like Newman (Wayne Knight) and David Puddy (Patrick Warburton), for example, are truly memorable, and responsible for some of the most iconic moments from the series. This ultimately also all comes back to the genius Seinfeld writing, which gave audiences gems like George’s incredibly lame coworker comeback.

Seinfeld
Seinfeld stars Jerry Seinfeld as a stand-up comedian whose life in New York City is made even more chaotic by his quirky group of friends who join him in wrestling with life’s most perplexing yet often trivial questions. Often described as “a show about nothing,” Seinfeld mines the humor in life’s mundane situations like waiting in line, searching for a lost item, or the trials and tribulations of dating. Co-starring is Julia Louis-Dreyfus as Jerry’s ex-girlfriend and current platonic pal, Elaine Benes; Jason Alexander as George Costanza, Jerry’s neurotic hard-luck best friend; and Michael Richards as Jerry’s eccentric neighbor, Kramer.
