Seeking Sister Wife Season 4: All About Marcus Epps’ Scandals

Seeking Sister Wife Season 4: All About Marcus Epps’ Scandals

On Seeking Sister Wife season 4, Marcus, Taryn, and India Epps are one of the newest families featured , and here’s what fans of the TLC series should know about Marcus’ scandalous past. While Marcus and Taryn are legally married, India, the couples’ sister wife, is engaged to Marcus. Since Seeking Sister Wife debuted in 2018, the show has become famous for its portrayal of polygamy, as well as its fair share of scandals. From a sister wife faking her own death to partners divorcing to include a third person, there is always something happening on and off-camera.

New cast member Marcus, who reportedly lives with Taryn and India in Florida, isn’t the first Seeking Sister Wife star whose personal life has come under fire. Ashley and Dimitri Snowden, who appeared on the first three seasons, and became one of the most recognizable Seeking Sister Wife families, were heavily scrutinized after Dimitri married Christeline Petersen during season 3. Christeline divorced Dimitri after just a few months of marriage, and was later granted restraining orders against Dimitri and Ashley, due to allegations of domestic and verbal abuse. While Ashley and Dimitri won’t make an appearance on season 4, it turns out that Marcus has enough of a controversial past to divert some attention from the former TLC stars.

Although Marcus, Taryn, and India are said to reside in Miami, Marcus was known as the City Councilman of Euclid, Ohio, which is located on the outskirts of Cleveland. In early 2021, Cleveland 19 News reported that Marcus was allegedly connected to an “illegal establishment,” that operated as an “known after hours club.” In late 2020, an unidentified woman was shot and killed at the club, and a video later surfaced which showed Marcus at the scene of the crime, as he carried another injured person out. A few months later, in July 2021, Cleveland 19 News reported that police executed a search warrant of the Seeking Sister Wife star’s home. In an interview with the outlet, Marcus called the situation a “political prosecution by the city of Euclid,” and denied any involvement in the 2020 shooting.

In a May 20 video, the YouTube channel Backwoods Barbi, which focuses on reality television commentary, provided more context on Marcus’ second brush with Euclid police. Backwoods Barbi, who is from Mississippi, reported that Marcus’ home was searched last summer because several duplexes that he owned were flagged for having multiple housing violations. One particular duplex even caught fire in March 2021, which injured a 19-year-old occupant. Marcus later entered a not guilty plea to the house violation charges, which were brought against him in January 2022.

Now that Marcus’ shady past has been brought to the forefront due to his appearance on Seeking Sister Wife, fans of the series have even more questions for the Epps family. After the Snowdens public fall from grace last year, many are questioning why TLC’s producers chose to cast Marcus, Taryn, and India. Others wonder if Marcus’ past will be brought up on the show, and in what capacity it might be featured. Viewers will surely be keeping a close eye on the Epps’ storyline as Seeking Sister Wife season 4 continues to unfold, alongside returning cast members Dannielle and Garrick Merrifield and Tosha and Sidian Jones.

Seeking Sister Wife season 4 airs Mondays at 10 p.m. EDT on TLC.
