Sea of Thieves Update Delayed By Last Minute Bug

A last minute bug has delayed the release of the new Sea of Thieves update. Sea of Thieves was released in 2018, and has only improved thanks to incredible and unique updates. The game was generally well received and enjoyed by players, but a lot of initial criticism centered around the lack of available content. The game’s developer, Rare, has since released full content updates as well as timed events for Sea of Thieves that have succeeded in keeping players interested.

Detailed and highly interactive story modes like Tall Tales, introduced during Sea of Thieves‘ huge Anniversary Update, and the addition of the PVP mode The Arena have also been critical to the continued success of the game. The Heart of Fire update was no doubt going to be another successful set of content for Sea of Thieves, unfortunately players will have to wait a little longer to find out.

As reported by PCGamer, Rare sent out a message on Twitter earlier today about the newest issue in Sea of Thieves and promised more information about a new release date for the Heart of Fire DLC soon. Originally, Sea of Thieves‘ Heart of Fire update was supposed to launch March 11. The newest update for the game update would have brought a new Tall Tale and new cannonballs, explosives, and gear for pirate crews to use. Rare reports that they will have more information about a new launch date by tomorrow, and assures players that this will not effect their current in-game progress.

Rare clearly works very hard to keep players engaged with Sea of Thieves, and wants to deliver the best game it can. It took the initial criticisms of Sea of Thieves seriously, and continues to plan out and regularly release content that lives up to players’ expectations. At this point, Rare’s goal is to deliver well-made, interesting, and deep content updates that flesh out the world around the players, rather than pushing out smaller, fast events.

Taking the time to test the update shows Rare’s commitment to its players. Instead of delivering an update as quickly as possible and dealing with the bugs later with more updates, Rare instead chose to delay the release, fix the issue they found, and deliver to its players the meticulously crafted and finished product that has come to be expected from the game. Although Rare has yet to announce the new release date for the Sea of Thieves Heart of Fire update, fans can rest assured that when it arrives, it should work perfectly.
