Scarlett Johansson, Margot Robbie & More Actresses Join An Instagram Fight Club

Stuntwoman and actress Zoë Bell shares a fight club video on Instagram featuring dozens of actresses, including Scarlett Johansson and Margot Robbie. Both will lead superhero movies this year, with Robbie headlining Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) earlier this year. Meanwhile, Johansson was due to star in her Black Widow solo film this month, but it’s unfortunately been delayed to November due to the coronavirus. All told, both actresses are key figures in the DCEU and MCU.

As the ongoing pandemic has brought the entertainment industry to a halt, many celebrities have pitched in. Johansson and her original Avengers costars have teamed up for a contest benefiting several charities, including Feeding America. Others have simply cheered fans up by participating in watch parties and Instagram lives. Wonder Woman herself, Gal Gadotbrought celebrities together in March for a cover of John Lennon’s “Imagine.” Others have participated in televised fundraisers or announced donations themselves, such as Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds, who did so while still managing to troll Hugh Jackman.

Earlier this week, Zoë Bell released a contribution of her own: an impressive Instagram fight video featuring several well-known actresses. In the video, each participant does a fight move, before handing it off to the next actress. Marvel and DC stars are particularly prominent, with Johansson’s MCU costars Zoe Saldana and Florence Pugh both featured. Meanwhile Birds of Prey actress Rosie Perez, who played Renee Montoya in the film, also makes an appearance. Bell also has a connection to many involved, having done stunt work in the MCU and appeared in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood with Robbie. Check out the star-studded video below:

Robbie will put in her next DCEU appearance in James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad. Many are eager to see Harley Quinn again after the critical success of Birds of Prey. Harley has become one of DC’s most popular characters in recent years, with many citing Robbie’s performance as the reason why. It’s hard to know if Johansson will be done with her role as Natasha Romanoff following Black Widow. Though it’s only the character’s first standalone film, Natasha is dead in the present-day MCU, limiting options going forward. It seems likely the film’s performance, as well as Johansson’s interest in continuing on as the character, will play a role in Black Widow’s future.

Considering the sheer number of actresses and franchises represented in this fight video, it should make fans of many different movies happy. It’s also an impressively put together enterprise, especially with the precision involved in the transitions. It may be awhile until fans see many of these actresses onscreen again. At least in the meantime, they can enjoy watching their Instagram fight club.
