Taylor Swift appears as her rumored Deadpool 3 hero alongside Elizabeth Olsen’s Scarlet Witch in new MCU fan art. Shortly after Disney’s acquisition of 20th Century Fox was finalized in 2019, Ryan Reynolds and Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige confirmed that Fox’s Wade Wilson, a.k.a. Deadpool, would be making the move to the MCU in 2024’s Deadpool 3. The Phase 5 project has since become one of the MCU’s most anticipated movies, and as Marvel Studios’ only theatrical release in 2024, there’s a lot of pressure on Deadpool 3 to perform well. Recent rumors suggest Deadpool 3 won’t disappoint, however.

Deadpool 3’s storyline is expected to be heavily reliant on the concept of the multiverse, as Ryan Reynolds’ antihero will be moving from Fox’s X-Men Universe into the MCU proper. This creates the opportunity for many Marvel cameos, and one of the most heavily rumored inclusions is singer-songwriter Taylor Swift, who has been suggested to be portraying the mutant hero Dazzler. This fan-cast has been imagined in new art shared by Skaiwitch.

The art unites Taylor Swift’s mutant Dazzler with Elizabeth Olsen’s Scarlet Witch, who seemingly departed the MCU in 2022, though could also return in an upcoming multiverse-spanning project.

Is Taylor Swift Really Going To Appear In Deadpool 3?

Although Taylor Swift hasn’t been confirmed to have any involvement in Deadpool 3, her actions in recent months have spurred rumors that she will be making a cameo appearance as Dazzler. In Marvel Comics, Dazzler is a mutant with the ability to convert sound waves into light, which she uses for various purposes, and as an accomplished singer, this role would be perfect for Swift. Deadpool 3 director Shawn Levy simply replied “no comment” when questioned about Swift’s involvement (via The Wrap), but this doesn’t do anything to confirm or deny her potential appearance in the upcoming Phase 5 film.

Back in October 2023, Taylor Swift was filmed with Levy, Reynolds and Wolverine actor Hugh Jackman walking into the MetLife Stadium, prompting a resurgence in Deadpool 3 speculation (via Dianna Russini). Dazzler was previously portrayed by Halston Sage in 2019’s Dark Phoenix, which suggests that Taylor Swift’s potential appearance would be as a recast or variant of the hero. Deadpool 3’s use of the MCU’s multiverse makes anything possible, so the opportunity is certainly there for Swift to appear as Dazzler. However, with nothing but denials and evasions from the cast and crew of Deadpool 3, only time will tell.
