Scarlet Nexus: How to Defeat Dispen Perry (Boss Guide)

Scarlet Nexus tells the story of a future earth that was drastically changed by the discovery of extra-sensory powers. After these powers became available to humans, dangerous monsters called Others descended from the sky. These Others have one goal in life: to feast on the brains of extra-sensory humans. However, with the advent of human powers, there is a slew of people who seek to defeat the Others posing a threat.

Various encounters with powerful Others serve as boss fights in Scarlet Nexus. These boss fights can be tricky without the proper skills, (gained from spending Brain Points) however, going into the fight with the right information makes them much easier. While playing as Kasane, accompanied by Shiden, in the Mizuaghawa District, players must face an Other named Dispen Perry. This battle is like the boss fight with Gunkin Perry in Yuito’s storyline, with a few notable differences. Here’s how players can defeat the Dispen Perry boss fight in Scarlet Nexus.

Defeating Dispen Perry in Scarlet Nexus

Scarlet Nexus: How to Defeat Dispen Perry (Boss Guide)

Dispen immediately falls to the arena floor and starts attacking the player. At the beginning of the fight, Dispen utilizes a melee strike in close combat and a water projectile that causes the “Soaked” status effect. Keeping Dispen at a distance during the entirety of the boss fight is important since players have a better chance of dodging the water projectiles compared to the melee strikes.

Like other games that use kinetic powers, such as Jedi: Fallen Order, extra-sensory abilities are the keys to victory in Scarlet Nexus. Wooden barrels and crates line the floor of the arena, and overhead, dump trucks line the edges of the walls. Staying at a distance from Dispen, use psychokinesis to throw crates at the water tank on the Other’s back. Similarly, players can use psychokinesis to bring down dump trucks on Dispen’s tank. A good tactic is to stand under a dump truck, bait Dispen into a leap attack, dodge the body slam, and bring the dump truck down on his tank. When the water tank is hit, Dispen is stunned for a few seconds, leaving him open for attack. Since Dispen is now covered in water, use electrokinesis attacks for maximum damage.

Although the crates are useful in the fight against Dispen, the dump trucks do much more damage. After doing enough damage, Dispen will begin to use two new attacks: a spin attack and a projectile that splits into three pieces. The spin attack is indicated by Dispen raising his arm, which he will follow up with a circular swipe of his claw. Avoid this move entirely, as it can’t really be dodged. The split projectile can be avoided by running and dodging from a distance or by hiding behind debris in the arena. Avoid these new attacks, smash the dump trucks into Dispen’s water tank, and attack with electrokinesis until the boss fight ends. One more major Other crossed off the to-do list in Scarlet Nexus! At this rate, players will beat the game and hop into New Game Plus in no time.

Scarlet Nexus is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series S/X.
