WARNING: Spoilers for Dragon Ball Super chapter #102
Before fighting Goku, Gohan’s incredibly powerful Beast transformation has shaken his father and Vegeta in Dragon Ball Super‘s latest chapter, proving the form’s godly power level. After Gohan unlocked an epic new transformation against Cell Max, Goku is eager to test it, but it looks to be more than he bargained for.
Beast mode’s vast amount of energy was felt across the universe by Goku and Vegeta while they continue training with Whis and Broly. After the defeat of Cell Max, Goku’s curiosity encouraged him to confront Gohan about his newly awakened powers. Now, Gohan has been brought to Destroyer God Beerus’s homeworld to engage in a sparring match against Goku in Dragon Ball Super chapter #102.
After a short warm-up round against Goten and Trunks, Goku was ready to test his eldest son and see how far he’d come since the Tournament of Power. However, after demonstrating his ability to transform into his Beast form at will, Gohan’s new form has intimidated Goku and Vegeta, who have recently had their perspectives on strength raised.
Gohan Has Once Again Shattered His Father’s Expectations

Gohan has consistently surprised fans of the series since the beginning of Dragon Ball Z‘s storyline. The incredible levels of strength hidden within him have gotten the better of monstrous foes like Raditz, Cell, and Super Buu. Dragon Ball Super‘s latest arc, the Super Hero arc, finally gave the human-Saiyan hybrid the development he’s been lacking throughout most of the sequel series. After learning to control the strength inside him, Gohan’s Beast form has awakened and is nor proving to be able to go toe to toe against Ultra Instinct Goku.
Since the Tournament of Power, both Goku and Vegeta have unlocked new transformations and faced some of the strongest characters in Dragon Ball‘s universe. Frightening levels of strength displayed by Gas and Black Frieza in the Granolah Survivor Saga have raised the bar for the Saiyans and inspired them to continue their training more than ever. Still, even after witnessing the universe’s strongest fighters, the new Beast form has stunned Goku and Vegeta, proving that Gohan ranks among the universe’s most powerful characters.
The Beast Form Ranks Among The Series’ Strongest Transformations
Gohan always seemed poised to become the main character in the Dragon Ball franchise. Still, the series had a hard time moving the focus away from Goku. While it’s unlikely the franchises will ever completely shift to follow adventures focused exclusively on Gohan, his time to shine in the manga’s latest arc has been a welcome treat for longtime fans of the character. With the future of the Dragon Ball Super storyline being a mystery, readers are anxious to see who will emerge victorious from this father-son sparring and match and what role Gohan and his new Beast Form will have in the franchise in the future arcs.
