An impressive new Saw cosplay imagines a gender-swapped version of Billy the Puppet coming to life with creepy results. The first movie in the long-running horror franchise was released back in 2004, introducing audiences to Tobin Bell’s John Kramer, aka Jigsaw, as he subjects victims to deadly games. Billy the Puppet has been a fixture of the franchise just as long as Jigsaw has, frequently seen riding a tricycle and carrying a voice recorder through which victims are informed of the unpleasant tasks ahead of them.

Now, cosplayer and makeup artist Courtney Little has shared her take on Saw‘s Billy the Puppet with a short video showing a before and after of her transformation. Check out the post below:

The video features some creepy voiceover from John Kramer, congratulating one of his victims for beating the trap and gaining a new appreciation for life.

What’s Next For The Saw Franchise?

After nine installments of varying quality, Bell returns as Kramer in Saw X, which sees the character punishing a team of medical scammers in Mexico. The movie, which is directed by franchise veteran Kevin Greutert, has earned some of the best reviews in franchise history, with critics praising the more character-focused approach and the gnarly traps. With the new movie proving to be a hit both critically and commercially, it seems like a given that the franchise will continue.

Franchise producer Oren Koules has been hesitant to share plans for a potential Saw 11, but, in a recent interview with Dextero, said of another installment: “I’d bet on it.” Unfortunately, due to Jigsaw’s death in Saw III, any future films in which Bell’s character takes center stage will have to be prequels. Saw X, for example, takes place roughly three weeks after the events of the original movie.

However, the Saw X ending and post-credits scene tease an interesting direction the franchise could go in for the next movie, which includes a surprising returning character. While it seemed for a while that perhaps the Saw franchise had run its course, with fatigue becoming evident following the lackluster reception to Spiral: From The Book of Saw, the latest installment has rejuvenated love for Jigsaw and his gruesome traps. It may not be too long, then, before Billy the Puppet and his master once again grace movie screens.
