New images for The Santa Clauses season 2 reveal the first look at Mad Santa. Based on the original The Santa Clause film series, which began in 1994, the Disney+ holiday series follows Scott Calvin, a former businessperson who has spent the better part of thirty years spreading Christmas cheer and managing operations in the North Pole as Santa Claus. One day, he decides to retire from his role as Santa Claus, and the holiday comedy follows his search for a capable successor. After The Santa Clauses season 1 premiered in November 2022, Disney+ renewed the show for season 2 the following month.
With the anticipation of The Santa Clauses season 2, new images of Eric Stonestreet as the North Pole’s newest frosty foe, “The Mad Santa,” have been released by People. Check them out below:
In the first image, Stonestreet is seen as “The Mad Santa,” dressed in a traditional, albeit dirty, Santa Claus suit, with a large M belt around his waist, and he’s standing alongside his assistant Olga (Martin Kessler). In the second image, Stonestreet is pictured standing at the North Pole, still in his peculiar Santa Claus suit, with a scruffy look on his face.
What To Expect From The Santa Clauses Season 2
Disney+ renewed The Santa Clause for another season following the season 1 finale. However, as of the time of writing, there hasn’t been any confirmation when season 2 will premiere. Tim Allen announced on his social media earlier in April that they had finished filming season 2, and with the usual holiday season release, season 2 might arrive later in November or December. But with the ongoing Hollywood strikes, there is a lot of uncertainty, and Disney+ might be forced to move the show to the holiday season next year.
Along with Stonestreet, who is expected to feature in The Santa Clauses season 2 as The Mad Santa, Golden Globe winner Tim Allen, who also serves as an executive producer for the show, is expected to reprise his role as Santa Claus and Scott Calvin. The remaining Santa Clauses cast expected to return include Elizabeth Mitchell, Elizabeth Allen-Dick, and Austin Kane.
There’s currently no confirmation on story details for The Santa Clauses season 2. However, since Calvin’s Scott retirement plans failed after he couldn’t find a worthy successor to take over as Santa Claus in season 1, he is expected to return in season 2 to focus on training his son Calvin, who is expected to inherit the mantle of Santa Claus.
