Santa Claus Officially Declares 1 Bat-Family Hero “Naughty” – & Sadly, He’s Right

Warning: Potential spoilers for Batman/Santa Claus: Silent Knight #3!Santa Claus has officially declared Robin naughty, making it abundantly clear that, despite Damian Wayne’s character growth over the years, the fifth Robin has still managed to accumulate enough mischievous deeds to warrant a less than-stellar spot on the jolly saint’s list. And truth be told, Santa’s assessment isn’t entirely unfounded – Damian has been hilariously naughty this year.

Jeff Parker, Trevor Hairsine, and Michele Bandini’s Batman / Santa Claus: Silent Knight #3 continues to follow Batman, Robin, and other heroes as they fight alongside Santa Claus to thwart Krampus and prevent the release of more deadly creatures into the world.

Santa Claus Officially Declares 1 Bat-Family Hero “Naughty” – & Sadly, He’s Right

Despite being on the hero side of the fight, Damian finds himself declared naughty not just once or twice but a staggering three times, signaling a less-than-jolly fate for Robin this holiday season. However, the prospect of coal in his stocking may be the least of Damian’s concerns as there’s a much bigger consequence for landing on Santa’s naughty list.

Damian Wayne is on Santa’s and Krampus’ “Naughty List”

It may sound like the beginning of a bad joke, but what do Santa Claus, Krampus, and the elf Peppermint Jon all have in common? They all deem the fifth Robin as unequivocally ‘naughty.’ This assessment unfolds swiftly as Peppermint Jon, upon meeting Damian, delivers a scolding “Rude Kinder!” when Robin mistakes him for one of Krampus’s unleashed creatures and attempts to kick the elf in the face. Jon further cements this sentiment by disclosing that Santa himself had specifically warned him about Damian’s inclinations, making it clear that Santa doesn’t think the fifth Robin quite makes the cut for his “Nice List” either.

However, Damian is officially declared naughty when Krampus, upon laying eyes on him, announces, “Krampus takes naughty children!” before proceeding to spirit Robin away. Consequently, it becomes clear that the repercussions of Damian’s naughty designation surpass the typical outcome of receiving coal in his stocking, reaching a crescendo with a personal kidnapping orchestrated by Krampus himself. Given the less-than-ideal track record of Robins returning unscathed after such abductions, this ominous development does not bode well for Damian. Fans are left to wonder if Damian’s naughtiness will be his saving grace against Krampus or if a show of niceness would better aid him.

As Damian finds himself in the clutches of Krampus, it becomes abundantly clear that the path of naughtiness might not be the most advantageous route for the youngest Robin to take. The key to securing his release could lie in Damian’s ability to show compassion and kindness toward the misunderstood Christmas villain. However, this tactic may prove to be harder for Damian than it seems, considering his first reaction to getting grabbed by Krampus was to yell out, “Someone shoot him!” Hence, it looks like Robin is going to have to do some character growth before hoping to escape Krampus using the power of kindness.
