Sandstorm Batman Cosplay Is A DC Comics Action Figure Come To Life

Sandstorm Batman Cosplay Is A DC Comics Action Figure Come To Life

In DC Comics, The Dark Knight of Gotham City, Batman is a versatile hero who always seems to have a new gadget, gizmo, or batsuit ready in the wings for whatever situation he may find himself in during his nightly vigilante escapades. And now, in a new cosplay, Sandstorm Batman makes his live-action debut in a way that does justice to a design that looks like an action figure come to life!

A handful of posts shared to Instagram by the Batman cosplayer in the photos, Spider Guy Rich (@spiderguyrich) has had success trying his hand at embodying more than a few iconic comic book characters in the past hailing from both DC and Marvel Comics.

Dressing as Scarlet Spider, a black and red version of Spider-Man 2099, Ghost Rider, Moon Knight, Daredevil, Green Lantern, Red Hood, and more, Spider Guy’s dedication to all things nerdy is more prevalent than ever with this inspired take on The Caped Crusader, making Sandstorm Batman a cosplay community exclusive that DC needs to pay attention to.

Sandstorm Batman Cosplay Is The Action Figure Fans Never Had Growing Up

Cosplay Design By @spiderguyrich

Creating and wearing dozens of batsuits, each with its own specialized abilities depending on the villain Batman is fighting, location he’s traveling to, or situation he’s prepping himself for, Batman is no stranger to producing outfits that are sometimes only worn once and never seen again. Consistently receiving exclusive and updated looks designed for the comic page, animated realm, live-action space, video game worlds, and more, Batman has worn a sandstorm-esque look before, one that made the jump from Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice Knightmare fame to comics during Tom King’s acclaimed Rebirth-era run with the character.

Standing ready for action with fists raised and sand-colored tactical gear strapped tight, the first photo featuring Spider Guy’s Sandstorm Batman — shot by the prolific photographer Mark (@nycosplayer) — shows that not only is this an inspired new design, but one that Batman needs to add to his repertoire immediately. Seen quite literally trapped inside an action figure box next, it’s here where the idea of this outfit acting as an alternate toy design makes even more sense, with the final set of photos giving fans a full-body look highlighting Bats’ bulletproof vest, ragged cape, combat boots, goggles, and non-lethal weapon.

New Batman Cosplay Introduces The Dark Knight’s “Sandstorm” Batsuit

So while Sandstorm Batman fits perfectly into the long history of The Dark Knight’s ever-changing and evolving crime-fighting wardrobe, it hasn’t been officially seen in comics just yet, with this design proving that should Batman venture into the desert for his next mission, he needs to be sporting a look just like this one. Batman will undoubtedly get another new batsuit in DC Comics soon, but until then, here’s hoping Spider Guy Rich (@spiderguyrich) continues to pump out original cosplays that rival the character’s canon designs.
