Sabrina the Teenage Witch Brings Fans A Winter Solstice Adventure

The issue also includes the stories “The Longest Nightand “A Very Spellman Solstice.” The exclusive preview above shows Sabrina at the Academy of Unseen Arts in the middle of a ritual to save one of her friends. It not only highlights her magical abilities but also her determination and willingness to face danger to save others. The preview also introduces a time limit that Sabrina will have to stay within in order to return to her own world.

Veronica Fish says:

Kelly is so wonderful to work with! I feel really grateful to have such an opportunity. It was fun to design Sabrina’s group of friends together, with Kelly’s descriptions as the launch pad. She squeezes a lot of story into just 12 pages. She also brings back characters we just got a peek of from the previous series, like fellow teen-witch Raquel. Kelly is really talented, she can pick up these characters without missing a beat — like we never took a break.

I’m really excited we get to continue Kelly’s story and see this part of Sabrina’s life at school. I looked at a few English campuses for reference and ultimately went with Queen Anne’s School in the UK. If you look up pictures, at the actual place the students also wear these beautiful red capes, so it felt right!

Some quick Easter Eggs (even though it’s hard to see on page 3) – we’ve got nods to the Hocus Pocus Black Flame candle and the spell book from The Craft!

Kelly Thompson says, “I was deeply excited about teaming back up with Veronica Fish, but I really underestimated how exciting it would be just to get back to Sabrina and her world. It came so naturally and it was such a delight — Veronica and I falling right back into our effortless partnership — and building all these fun little elements of Sabrina’s new world. I loved every minute and I hope the fans do too.

Sabrina is set for a new adventure in this one-shot, which is paying homage to magic media. Fans of witchcraft fantasy will likely notice the nods to the genre while enjoying the latest adventure of Archie Comics’ iconic witch. Sabrina may have been having chilling adventures the last several years, but she is set to experience a throwback to her 2019 adventures, just in time for the upcoming winter solstice. Her various Archie Comics series show that Sabrina the Teenage Witch has a wide range of potential, effectively allowing her to move between creepy and more lighthearted tones with relative ease.

Sabrina the Teenage Witch Holiday Special #1 releases from Archie Comics on December 13.
