Ryan Reynolds & Channing Tatum’s Action Comedy Prompts $50M+ Bidding War Between 3 Major Studios

An upcoming action comedy featuring Ryan Reynolds and Channing Tatum sparks a high-budget bidding war between three different studios. Reynolds and Tatum are set to co-star in Calamity Hustle, which is currently in pre-production. The film is set to be co-directed by Aaron Nee and Adam Nee.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Calamity Hustle has prompted a huge bidding war between Warner Bros., Amazon, and Netflix. WB reportedly offered around $20M for each of the two stars, while Amazon and Netflix instead offered $50M to be split between them as they see fit. The directors could earn between $6-8M in the final deal, and one THR source has said an offer for the total package totaled $175M as of Friday, December 1.
