Fans of drag queens Jujubee and Mo Heart will be delighted to learn that the pair of performers recently traveled down memory lane to revisit some of their most iconic RuPaul’s Drag Race moments. The two queens are among the impressive roster of drag queens performing on WOW Presents Plus’ newest drag sensation RuPaul’s Drag Race: UK vs. The World that premiered on February 1. The two queens are joined by drag queens from all over the world competing for the ultimate crown. Starring on the show are Blu Hydrangea, Baga Chipz and Cheryl Hole from Drag Race UK; Janey Jacké, runner-up for Drag Race Holland season 1; Pangina Heals, the co-host of Drag Race Thailand; and Drag Race Canada queens Lemon and Jimbo.
Jujubee made her first appearance in the Drag Race workroom during the second season of the acclaimed series, landing in third place. Her second season efforts were far from her last. She competed for the RuPaul’s Drag Race All-Stars crown during its first season and again in season 5 where she was the runner-up. Mo Heart, formerly known as “Monique Heart,” first charmed the Drag Race judging panel during season 10, where she finished in eighth place. She returned to redeem herself in All-Stars season 4 as the runner-up. While both Jujubee and Mo Heart stole hearts and impressed the judges in the past, UK vs. The World raises the stakes even higher as the queens compete for the international title.
All queens have to start somewhere. In a recent interview with EW, Jujubee and Mo Heart reminisced on some of their humble beginnings during the U.S. Drag Race series. Jujubee made a huge splash as a comedy queen with her Snatch Game performance as Eartha Kitt, making the entire judging panel roar with laughter with her spot-on impression and hilarious antics. Jujubee revealed that she still visits Eartha from time to time, claiming, “I use [this] voice when I call people. It’s funny. But it’ll be very serious. Like, I’ll order food. All the time, literally like, ‘Can I have a combo No. 2 and a diet soda?’”
Mo Heart was a beloved queen from the start, helping many other queens with their costuming challenges and always serving a daring look. When forced to lip sync for her life, Mo Heart had RuPaul cackling when she threw her wig during the performance, which landed in the rafters of the set. While many anticipated the wig to return to the queen, it didn’t do so as easily as expected. “No, [I didn’t intend to do that],” Mo Heart explained. “The song was going on and I was trying to do a pike…When I did that, my wig lifted and I left the separation, so I just said, well, I’ll toss it in the air. I felt like I was winning the lip sync, so I was like, it’s fine, whatever. And then it made history. I almost burned the building down, so I’m very happy.” When Jujubee asked if she ever got the wig back, Mo Heart revealed, “Yes. They were like, ‘Get the wig, it’s synthetic, it’ll start a fire.’”
These iconic RuPaul’s Drag Race moments only scratch the surface of the impressive performances and talent both Jujubee and Mo Heart displayed during their time on the show.
