RuPaul’s Drag Race season 9 contestant Kimora Blac has posted a video supporting her friend Derrick Barry and blasting India Ferrah, adding yet another chapter to the ongoing feud between India and Derrick that was revealed on the first episode of RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars 5. While certain diehard fans were vaguely aware of the years-long feud involving India and Derrick, the situation escalated to new heights once it was broadcast on VH1. One must note that the three queens – Kimora, Derrick, and India – have been working as drag entertainers in Las Vegas for many years. This means that Kimora, Derrick, and India have likely shared many experiences together and competed for similar bookings and gigs around town.
In February 2018, Kimora Blac’s TV show Wait, What? premiered on the WOW Presents Plus streaming platform. Originally, Mariah Paris Balenciaga co-hosted Wait, What? season 1 alongside Kimora. However, Mariah was replaced by Derrick Barry on seasons 2 and 3 of the show. With more than 50 thousand subscribers on her YouTube channel, Kimora is also known for posting makeup tutorials and sharing beauty secrets on her videos, which have collectively accumulated over 2 million views. This week, however, Kimora shared a very different kind of video.
This week, Kimora Blac posted what was meant to be a video review of the first episode of RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars 5. After admitting that Derrick Barry didn’t do well in the challenge and praising India Ferrah’s stage presence, Kimora declares that Mariah Paris Balenciaga deserved to win the maxi challenge. Then, Kimora moves on to India and Derrick’s feud, noting that she is friends with Derrick and has worked with India. First, Kimora alleges that India may have leaked the information that Kimora and Farrah Moan were cast on RuPaul’s Drag Race season 9. Given that the contestants sign an ironclad contract barring them from sharing any production details, this leak could’ve had costly consequences for Kimora and Farrah. In response, Kimora calls India “unnecessary” and “like a diarrhea person.” As the video reaches its halfway point, Kimora announces that she will share a screenshot from one of India’s rants on social media. In the screenshot, India Ferrah appears to be criticizing so-called “new queens” for wearing certain clothes and doing certain dance moves, which Kimora Blac claims to be the exact same clothes and dance moves that India’s drag is all about. Kimora blasts India for constantly invalidating what other drag performers are doing, saying, “You’re no one to tell nobody what to wear. You’re no one to tell nobody what to dress. If you’re going to get mad at someone doing a death drop and a split… well, you just talked s**t about the entire f***ing cast.” Finally, Kimora addresses her friend Derrick Barry’s elimination, urging the queen to stop second-guessing herself and commit to her title as the world’s best Britney Spears impersonator.
The season has just begun, but RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars 5 is already filled with fights and controversy. With so many episodes still to go, it wouldn’t be surprising if the feud between India and Derrick keeps developing in the coming weeks.
