Rugrats Reboot & 9 Other Nickelodeon Shows Removed From Paramount+

Paramount+ is no longer carrying the Rugrats reboot, Blue’s Clues & You!, Are You Afraid of the Dark, and other youth-oriented shows. Launched as CBS All Access in 2014, the streaming platform was renamed in 2021 and carved out a niche as a platform filled with Nickelodeon shows aimed at kids. It has developed original programming and rebooted popular children’s shows, including Rugrats and Blue’s Clues.

The Rugrats reboot, which returned beloved actors Tara Strong and E. G. Daily, is no longer available through Paramount+. According to Deadline, Rugrats, Big Nate, and eight other shows have been removed from the platform. These removals are despite the Kids & Family section’s success for the network. In its annual 10-K report, Paramount+ explained the removal of shows. Check out the statement below:

“In connection with our continued review of our international content strategy, during the first quarter of 2024 we made a strategic decision to focus on content with mass global appeal. As part of this, we are rationalizing original content on Paramount+, especially internationally, and improving the efficiency of our linear network programming. As a result, we have reviewed our expansive global content portfolio and are removing select content from our platforms.”
