It’s a new year and fans are getting a peek at what lies ahead for the DC Universe thanks to the latest batch of solicitations. This March, fans can expect a lot of action in the Batman corner of the DCU, including the return of someone quite special to Damian Wayne. The solicited information for Batman and Robin #7 reveals that Robin’s girlfriend Flatline, is returning as Damian continues to hunt down Man-Bat and Shush. But she isn’t alone as something has come with her. Flatline can be seen on the issue’s standard cover by Simone Di Meo, which sees her working side-by-side with the dynamic duo.

Robin’s Girlfriend Flatline is Back, But What Does She Want?
When Damian Wayne quit his role as Batman’s sidekick, he went on a journey to find himself. That journey led him to Lazarus Island where he competed in a tournament with some of the best fighters in the DC Universe. It was here that Damian met Nika, aka Flatline, Lord Death Man’s sidekick. The two fought occasionally but grew quite close throughout the tournament. While the two never strictly defined their relationship, Robin and Flatline liked each other. Unfortunately, between Damian being possessed by the Devil Nezha and Lazarus Planet, they’ve yet to make it back into one another’s lives.
Speaking of Lazarus Planet, the last time Flatline was seen was back in Lazarus Planet: Next Evolution. The Lazarus Resin gave Nika the power to resurrect people, and the first person to benefit from her new ability was Damian’s grandfather, Ra’s al Ghul. Ra’s invited Nika into his fold and it can be assumed this is where she’s been for the past few months. But why is she heading back to Gotham now? Did she opt not to work with Ra’s and break out on her own? Or is she working for Ra’s and come back to Gotham to sway Damian to join the League of Assassins?
Will Flatline Break Robin’s Heart?
Robin and Flatline haven’t been together in a while, but they left on good terms. But Damian doesn’t seem to know that his grandfather is alive or that Nika is working with him. Discovering that likely isn’t going to sit well with him. Sure, there’s a chance Flatline has come back to pick up where she left off with Damian, but Nika’s experience with Ra’s al Ghul will undoubtedly be hanging over her. Is Flatline back to start something real with Damian, or is Robin about to be unexpectedly betrayed by someone he thought he could trust?
