Road House Remake Director Reverses SXSW Boycott Amid BTS Controversies

After having previously been adamant about not attending the event due to changes in the movie’s release plan, director Doug Liman has reversed his boycott of Road House‘s South by Southwest premiere.

Deadline has brought word that Liam is in fact in attendance of the Road House‘s SXSW premiere after previously stating he would boycott the premiere. Despite his appearance, though, sources report that the director is not expected to appear on stage for the movie’s screening to introduce the Jake Gyllenhaal-led remake, but rather will be seated in the theater as part of his tradition of “slipping into theaters and watching how his movies play.” Instead, the movie will be introduced by Gyllenhaal at its Paramount Theater screening.
