Deleted scenes from the Riverdale series finale confirm the fates of several characters. In the end, the long-running CW drama ended on a surprisingly melancholy note. With the help of an angelic Jughead as a guide, a nostalgic Betty gets to spend one last day reliving high school. But during that day, Betty also learns of what happened to several of her friends – including how they died.
TVLine reports that The CW has released an extended version of the Riverdale series finale, which is available on The CW’s website and app. The extended version includes several deleted scenes, which reveal that Cheryl’s brother Julian becomes something of a lost soul and dies in Vietnam. There are also revelations about Nana Rose, who is reincarnated several times, and the fact that Sheriff Keller ends up in a secret relationship with Archie’s uncle, Frank. They’re ultimately killed by Betty’s long-lost brother. The extended version likewise features more of Betty’s regret about letting go of her youthful past.
