The new trailer for Ripley has been unleashed. The upcoming streaming show is a new adaptation of Patricia Highsmith’s 1955 novel The Talented Mr. Ripley, which was previously adapted into the Matt Damon movie of the same name in 1999 and the French thriller Purple Noon in 1960. This version was created by Steven Zaillian and stars Sherlock and Fleabag star Andrew Scott in the title role opposite an ensemble cast that includes Johnny Flynn and Dakota Fanning.
Netflix has unveiled a new full-length trailer for the Ripley show, which was originally developed for Showtime before they picked it up. See it below:
With crisp black-and-white cinematography, the trailer shows the jaws of the law slowly snapping shut around Tom Ripley before going back to the beginning of his story. When he is asked to travel to Italy to convince old acquaintance Dickie Greenleaf (Flynn) to return home to America, he’s embroiled in a web of jealousy, murder, and lies that forces him to draw on all his expertise as a con artist to make it out alive.
More to come…
