The trailer for the new Zac Efron movie Ricky Stanicky has arrived. The movie, which was directed by Dumb and Dumber and There’s Something About Mary‘s Peter Farrelly, is a new comedy set to premiere on Prime Video. The movie stars Zac Efron, Andrew Santino, and Jermaine Fowler as a group of friends who have invented the imaginary title character as an excuse to get away with hijinks, but when they need to prove his existence, they are forced to hire an unpredictable character actor (played by John Cena) to portray Ricky in real life.
Prime Video has now unleashed the official trailer for Ricky Stanicky. Check it out below:
The trailer opens with the trio inventing a medical mishap for Ricky as a way to go on a trip to Atlantic City, but their lie goes wrong when Santino’s character is unreachable while his wife gives birth, forcing the group to try and convince their families that Stanicky actually exists. However, once hired, Cena’s character’s commitment to the role makes their plans fly swiftly off the rails.
