Rick and Morty: 10 Worst Things Evil Morty Has Done

Rick and Morty: 10 Worst Things Evil Morty Has Done

All good conventional TV shows with semi-serious storylines and plots usually have a main overarching antagonist or villain. In Rick and Morty‘s case, it’s not exactly conventional but nevertheless, the showrunners managed to craft one of the most compelling villains the series could offer.

That villain came in the form of possibly the most intelligent Morty in existence in Rick and Morty‘s parallel universes. He has the wit and the drive to outsmart even the Rickest Ricks of them all and has proven this when he took over the Citadel. His appearances might have been brief and cryptic at times but the extent of the damage he has done is very much severe. If fans are not convinced, here are 10 of the worst things he’s done, proving once and for all that a Morty can be more dangerous than a Rick.

MADE A FAKE EVIL RICK

Rick and Morty: 10 Worst Things Evil Morty Has Done

This evil deed sounds like a pretty minor thing to do especially in a show like Rick and Morty but its implications are actually huge. For one, it appears nobody knows the existence of Evil Morty just yet simply because little devil pinned all his bad deeds on a Rick.

This meant he could work in the background and continue to cause damage to the Citadel or whatever he’s planning. He was so sure that the council of Ricks would pin everything on a Rick since no one believed that a Morty could have done all of it.

KIDNAPPED AND ENSLAVED MORTY’S

As part of his ruse for a robotic Evil Rick, Evil Morty also had to acquire as many Mortys as he can in order to fuel his “cloaking device” for his secret operation. Even for Evil Morty, this was the most psychotic course of action to do since he’s very much aware of how oppressed Mortys are.

It also seems he’s ruined the lives of countless Mortys from other dimensions for the sake of staying under the radar. Rick doing such a thing to Mortys is acceptable, but a Morty doing that to other Morty’s is just diabolical.

KILLED MANY RICK’S

A life of slavery is often worse than death but either way, Evil Morty caused the same degree of harm to Rick’s as well, not just Morty’s. In this case, Evil Morty chose to quickly end the lives of more than a few dozen Rick’s all over the multiple universes.

Evil Morty apparently did this so that the Mortys of the Rick’s he’s killed would be Rickless, making them easier to kidnap and enslave. One could say that the kidnapped Mortys have it worse but at least they still have the chance of getting rescued, whereas the dead Rick’s just fade into nothingness, leaving behind a wake of traumatized Beth’s, Jerry’s, and Summer’s.

TURNED A GOOD CHARACTER EVIL

The latest sighting of Evil Morty happened in Season 4 Episode 6 which was pretty much an elaborate version of the cheap “and then they woke up” storytelling trope. That means Evil Morty’s appearance here might not be canon but we’ll see about that in the future.

Surprisingly enough, Evil Morty’s latest appearance showed what appears to be an evil or corrupted version of Mr. Poopybutthole beside him along with an army of male Gazorpazorpians and Ricks. How and why Evil Morty managed to do this to that character remains to be seen… or not.

FIRED CAMPAIGN MANAGER MORTY

We usually don’t see a genuinely competent Morty in Rick and Morty. Heck, even the “original” Morty we have can prove to be quite inept despite being on countless multidimensional shenanigans. That’s why seeing a Campaign Manager Morty commands respect.

He was a good employee and with a sound and mature reasoning too. He’s probably the wisest Morty thus far. Too bad Evil Morty didn’t want a Morty like this around so he fired him and in turn, transformed Campaign Manager Morty into alcoholic before finally toying with him.

ORCHESTRATED ASSASSINATION PLOT

A particular nefarious deed like this is actually up for debate whether Evil Morty planned it or not. Knowing him, he probably did and this happened during the elections after Campaign Manager Morty was fired.

A shady investigator Rick gave some suspicious-looking evidence to the jobless Campaign Manager Morty with an order to assassinate Evil Morty. Campaign Manager Morty did but failed and even caused Evil Morty to win by a landslide. Again, there’s a big chance it was Evil Morty’s ploy all along in order to secure his victory in the election.

KILLED AN HONEST MORTY

After possibly manipulating Campaign Manager Morty into assassinating him and letting him win the election in the process, Evil Morty had no more use for the former Morty. He then ordered his security Ricks to dispose of Campaign Manager Morty in a cruel execution.

Campaign Manager Morty was thrown into the void of space along with the “evidence” of Evil Morty. It was a rather miserable and sad moment as this was a Morty who was wise and had concern for the greater good.

DISHONEST POLITICIAN

There’s no doubt that Evil Morty is more evil than the usual Rick given his penchant for schemes and plots as well as eliminating his enemies. In one fell Machiavellian swoop, Evil Morty managed to win the election in the Citadel using any means necessary, democratically that is.

Evil Morty seemingly pandered to the underdog sentiments of the Morty population on the Citadel and faked his social and economic platforms in order to win the voters’ hearts. Granted, that sounds pretty standard in today’s elections but Evil Morty’s foundation for it was a pile of dead bodies.

ADMINISTRATIVE MASSACRE

As soon as he was able to secure the highest seat in the Citadel’s office, Evil Morty was quickly met with the politics of the Citadel. There, capitalist Rick’s ran everything because they held economic power.

Evil Morty’s solution? Cut off the heads of the snakes and centralize everything by killing all the businessmen Rick’s who didn’t want to surrender their economic stranglehold to Evil Morty.

TOTALITARIAN RULE

All of Evil Morty’s plans converged into this culmination, the stubbornness of the capitalist Rick’s and the invented assassination threats allowed Morty to impose extreme countermeasures for his new society.

Evil Morty quickly turned his tenure in the Citadel into a dictatorship where everyone who opposed him or disagreed with his hairstyle was killed. How fast he did it was a little ridiculous and unbelievable but regardless, he catapulted himself into being the de facto villain of the Rick and Morty series.
