RHOSLC: Jen Shah Finally Addresses Accusations That She Abuses Staff

Jen Shah from The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City is finally breaking her silence after accusations of alleged staff abuse came to light. The news didn’t come as a shock to viewers, as Jen has shown the audience that she does lose her temper sometimes. This usually happens when she’s feeling frustrated. However, viewers seem to support Jen even though her reactions can be extreme. Jen may always be entangled in some drama, but that makes for interesting TV.

The audience came to know Jen when she appeared on The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City season one this past winter. When the show started, she was best friends with fellow housewife Heather Gay, and their bond was seemingly unbreakable. Later on, Jen became close to her other costar Lisa Barlow, who defended her at the reunion. The divide began after Heather and fellow housewife Whitney Rose called Jen aggressive due to her conduct during their trip to Las Vegas. Heather no longer felt like Jen was someone she could lean on.

On Sunday, Jen Shah took to Instagram Live to squash the alleged rumors that she verbally abuses her staff members. The video showed Jen and a close friend of hers relaxing in a heated tub at the Promontory Clubhouse in Park City, Utah. A follower then asked the reality star if she abuses her staff. Jen tried to ignore the question at first, but after several other followers started to ask the same thing, she decided to address the accusations. “I don’t abuse my staff,” she announced, adding, “You guys really shouldn’t believe all those things that are out there. It’s kind of funny, right?” Her friend also chimed in. She agreed with Jen, stating, “She does not abuse her staff.”

Jen denied the claims during her Live but fans still needed more answers. The mother of two didn’t want to rehash the past as she and her friend were enjoying a day of relaxation. She said, “It’s Sunday, right?” However, she did speak on her situation with former designer Koa Johnson, who has described the work situation with Jen as “stressful.” Jen stated, “This [person calling me out], like, come on! I’ve had staff members with me for like 12 years. It’s, you know, people that were here for a different reason, [who] were trying to just...” At that point, her friend told her to “bring it back to Sunday.” An audio recording leaked of Jen screaming at Koa and threatening physical violence. A video also surfaced of Jen berating another staff member and throwing an object at the person.

After the audio and video recordings became public, Jen instructed her lawyer to send a cease and desist letter to the blogger who shared the private conversations, according to Reality Blurb. While Jen has spoken out, she has yet to respond to the accusations in detail. The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City viewers are hoping that she will address the allegations during the next season. If she does, there will probably be some very dramatic scenes.
