RHOSLC: How Homeland Security Is The Newest Housewife

Homeland Security is set to play a major role in The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City, practically functioning as its newest cast member. Thanks to all the court issues going on with Jen Shah, the department made an appearance in the trailer for season 2. However, overall, it seems like more and more of the housewives are finding themselves on the wrong side of the law.

Just like The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, the new episodes of RHOSLC are going to be rife with legal problems. Jen has been accused of running a telemarketing scheme by the U.S. Government that was said to span over six states and run for ten years. Hundreds were hurt and used for lead lists. Jen has maintained her innocence and pled not guilty to the charges back in April. The Salt Lake City resident’s trial is set for March of 2022 after a judge postponed her October date due to the worldwide pandemic.

All told, the women of the slopes may need to make room on the party bus for one more, and instead of bringing her skis, she will be bringing the smackdown on any housewife who has proven to have broken the law. In the flash-forward scene of the new season of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City, it is heavily implied that Homeland Security had some inside help, and all cameras were pointing towards Mary Cosby and Meredith Marks. This suggests the department is set to be a big factor this season even outside of Jen’s initial arrest.

Jen’s attention-seeking outburst caught the attention of the government and has put her issues front and center. The government agency has no qualms with taking Jen down from her pedestal and will not be swayed by Bravo viewers’ tweets or ratings. This was shown right at the beginning of the premiere episode, between the giant shotski and Beauty Lab 15 minute parking spot. It’s clear Homeland Security already played a role in creating one of the franchise’s most talked about moments.

Adding a new force to the mix is always challenging, but the government agency fits right in and could help carry season 2 to high ratings. While Homeland Security isn’t a real housewife, the department will be playing a pivotal role in the new season. If the premiere episode is any indication, it should only make The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City even more entertaining.

The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City airs Sundays at 9 pm EST on Bravo.
