It was a slap heard around the world when A-list actor Will Smith smacked the Oscars host Chris Rock across the face during the live broadcast, and The Real Housewives of New Jersey star Margaret Josephs shared how she was disappointed in Smith’s behavior. Rock was onstage and made a joke that Smith’s wife Jada Pinkett Smith looked like G.I. Jane with her close-cropped hair. Will jumped up onto the stage and gave Chris Rock a resounding slap. He then sat down and yelled, “Keep my wife’s name out of your f****** mouth!”
The women of RHONJ are no strangers to violence and fans still talk about Teresa Giudice’s infamous table flip. Teresa has managed to keep her hands clean since then, but she egged on Danielle Staub in RHONJ season 10 to pull Margaret’s ponytail. Teresa has since apologized to Margaret for her part in the fight, explaining that she had been caught up in the moment. Amazing the way he kept it moving.” A fan retorted, “Girl, like you weren’t pushing people in the pool and being violent your own self on national tv save the righteous act.” Margaret, who is known for stirring the pot on RHONJ, responded with, “I’m on a reality series that’s for entertainment lol not the Academy awards the most prestigious stage in the arts. Flattered you compare the two.”
Many RHONJ fans were divided about the Oscars incident. Some fans think Rock was way out of line for making fun of Pinkett Smith’s hair, as she has been open about struggling with alopecia. Others agree with Margaret that violence is never the answer and that Smith should have been removed from the Oscars. However, fans can’t help but point out Margaret’s hypocrisy, especially after pouring water on Danielle’s hair, which led up to the infamous hair-dragging incident. Margaret may be trying to build a case for herself after a RHONJ season 12 teaser showed Teresa and Margaret getting into an epic showdown, which airs later this season. Teresa had expressed her dislike of Margaret questioning her relationship with her now-fiancé Luis Ruelas all season long.
