LeeAnne Locken is still upset with how she was treated while on The Real Housewives of Dallas and admitted she felt set up before she was fired. After being called out for racially insensitive comments toward her co-stars, the beauty queen had a rough last season. Two years later, LeeAnne still feels burned by Bravo.
The former RHOD star has been a controversial housewife from day one as she was always outspoken and often had trouble fitting in with the other women. During her last season on the show, she was accused of being a racist by her co-star Kary Brittingham, whom she called a “chirpy Mexican.” The backlash was swift, and in February of 2020, the reality TV star announced her departure from RHOD. In August of 2021, Bravo revealed that the franchise would not be renewed and would be put on pause indefinitely.
Recently, LeeAnne spoke with Us Weekly, revealing that she was “set up to fail” during more than one instance. The former carnival worker believed that producers and Bravo executives never understood her personality, saying she was a “Phoenix” who always rose from the ashes. LeeAnne still believes that she was not racially motivated during her interactions with Kary. The former RHOD housewife stated that she was “mimicking” what Kary has said to her at the time, revealing it was hard for people to understand that those words were not coming from her own mind or her heart. The 55-year-old shared that she and Kary had sat down since the show ended and talked everything out.
LeeAnne also feels the show wouldn’t have been canceled if she was still a part of it, noting the highest-rated episode was her wedding to her now-husband, Rich Emberlin. Naturally, LeeAnne is always open to returning to RHOD as long as Bravo promises to showcase her true personality. While the network has yet to comment, fans know there is always a chance of a Real Housewives franchise being restored to its former glory. Peacock has had a triumphant resurrection of The Real Housewives of Miami and introduced The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip.
For now, LeeAnne has moved on to bigger and better ventures since leaving The Real Housewives of Dallas behind. She currently participates in multiple hosting gigs and is still very involved with numerous charities. LeeAnne also recently made up with Brandi Redmond after years of feuding, so there could very well be a possible reboot of the series if the women can convince the network it is worth it.
