RHOC: Jo De La Rosa Loses Dad To Coronavirus, Releases Heartbreaking Tribute

Jo De La Rosa, who was the youngest housewife and from season 1 of The Real Housewives of Orange County, has lost her father to coronavirus. The reality star posted a touching tribute via her social media. It featured a video that showed her and her father from years ago.

The 40-year-old starred in the first two seasons of the breakout franchise but left soon after due to her relationship breaking down. Recently, Jo had to bury her father, who passed away from COVID-19. Jo did make cameos in season 3 and four before getting her own spinoff, Dare My Ex: Jo and Slade. Soon after leaving the show, the couple broke up, and Slade Smiley began dating Gretchen Rossi. After saying goodbye to the OC, Jo started a career in advertising and moved to Los Angeles. She also started her own podcast, PopCandy.

Jo is mourning the loss of her father, who died after contracting the novel coronavirus. He was 63 at the time of his passing. The former reality star posted a touching tribute via her Instagram where she wrote, “I’ve never cried more tears.”

The California native posted a picture of her and her father from when she was younger, writing, It is with the heaviest of hearts I share I lost my dad to covid last week. This pandemic has been life-changing for many people and unfortunately, covid won this time. My father, Juan Carlos Contreras, was only 63.Fans supported the housewife by leaving messages of support as she wrote, “I’ve never cried more tears in my life than these last few days but today, I want to celebrate him and remember all the happy times we shared so I made a video called ‘The Story of Us’ which captures our story when my mom met him all the way until they got divorced. I don’t know if he ever got it but I was reminded by one of my best friends I’ll see him in Heaven again one day and we’ll have the rest of eternity to be able to reconcile. Thank you Doni for that truth as your words have been a light in my darkness. Jo was devastated by the news of her loss and ended her montage by saying, “To my dad – I love you. I forgive you. You meant absolutely everything to me. I can’t wait to see you when God finally calls me and says it’s time. All I want is to be able to see you again and tell you these words face to face.”

The podcaster recently spoke out on Behind the Velvet Rope podcast, where she divulged that Slade had actually paid for her to be a part of the show back in the day. The former Real Housewives of Orange County star is still mourning her loss; she is supported by so many who remember her from her time on the show.
