RHOC: All the Reasons Why Fans Want A Reboot After This Season

Ever since The Real Housewives of Orange County season 15 ended, the fans have been calling for the show to be either cancelled or rebooted. The fans haven’t been enjoying the series for a while, but feel like they’ve finally had enough with this current cast of women.

It seems as though Bravo tried to shake up the cast for season 14 by demoting OG housewife, Vicki Gunvalson to a “friend” role. For the most recent season, they completely got rid of Vicki and also took Tamra Judge out of the mix as well. Fans were hopeful for the season, but too many incidents happened on and off camera with a few of the cast members. Plus, the cast was the first of the franchise to have to endure filming during a global pandemic. This dream does not seem so far-fetched now that Housewives executive producer and reunion host, Andy Cohen, hinted at a possible reboot on Twitter.

According to users on Reddit, there are many fans calling for a reboot of the RHOC cast. Several users have taken a liking to Gina Kirschenheiter after this past season, as well as Emily Simpson. Fans seem to enjoy their friendship and have become some of the most well-liked across the franchise this year. One user believes Gina is needed in RHOC even calling her genuine, “I’ve been doing a rewatch of the last three seasons and Gina is genuine. We need that.” Another fan said, “Emily & Gina earned their spots this season – get rid of everyone else.” The general consensus seems to be that Emily and Gina are the only ones who deserve to stay on the show, while the rest need to be let go. Certain cast members such as Shannon Beador, Braunwyn Windham-Burke, and Kelly Dodd do not want to be welcomed back on the show.

Shannon has been called “whining” and annoying this season, while Braunwyn was called “a disaster.” Before RHOC season 15 even started, the fans were already calling for Kelly to be removed from the cast. She had made some very controversial comments over the past year regarding the COVID-19 pandemic and the Black Lives Matter movement. For instance, Kelly referred to the virus as “God’s way of thinning the herd” and was always quite careless about wearing a mask. She was also under fire after she wore a hat that read “Drunk Wives Matter” across the front, which many took as belittling the BLM movement. Many fans have said they will not watch season 16 if Bravo decides to renew Kelly’s contract. The fans appear to feel the same way about Braunwyn, as many viewers found her to be too narcissistic and fame-hungry. Plus, she physically assaulted her husband, Sean, after a minor argument at home.

A reboot does sound likely for next season as Andy confirmed a possible reboot last month in a tweet. Fans are even willing to lose the whole cast to get something new out of the franchise. Hopefully, the higher-ups at Bravo are listening and seriously consider more than just a cast shake-up for Real Housewives of Orange County.
