RHOBH: Why Lisa Rinna Needs To Stop Blaming Her Behavior On Grief

RHOBH: Why Lisa Rinna Needs To Stop Blaming Her Behavior On Grief

Lisa Rinna has publicly mourned her mother Lois since she passed before The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills season 12 began, but while Lisa has understandably been through a lot in the past year, it’s time for her to stop using her grief to justify her aggressive behavior. Lisa, an actress primarily known for starring on the soap opera Days Of Our Lives, was introduced RHOBH season 5 and has since become a staple figure in the Real Housewives franchise. Known for being outspoken and opinionated, Lisa is not afraid to speak her mind, which has gotten her into several feuds with former housewives like Lisa Vanderpump, Denise Richards, and Kim Richards.

Although Lisa’s impulsive behavior has landed her in hot water throughout the years on RHOBH, Lisa’s demeanor was particularly dialed up from 10 to 1,000 on RHOBH season 12. In November 2021, Lisa’s mother, Lois, tragically passed away at age 93 while in hospice. Real Housewives fans and alumni alike have sent their condolences to Lisa since Lois’ death, with scores of people sympathizing with the RHOBH star and her family, which include husband Harry Hamlin and daughters Amelia and Delilah. Besides feuding with Kathy Hilton, one of Lisa’s storylines on RHOBH season 12 showcased her struggle to adjust to life without Lois. While Lisa’s grief is unimaginable to many, however, there are several reasons why there is, ultimately, no excuse for Lisa’s attitude throughout RHOBH season 12.

Lisa Rinna Uses Her Grief To Be A Bully On RHOBH Season 12

Viewers have accused Lisa of driving former housewives off the show long before Kathy said so at the RHOBH season 12 reunion, and while Lisa has remained loyal to the other Fox Force Five members — Kyle Richards, Dorit Kemsley, and Erika Girardi — Lisa was blatantly shown bullying Kathy, Sutton Stracke, and Garcelle Beauvais throughout RHOBH season 12. When Lisa wasn’t yelling, belittling, or gaslighting Kathy, Sutton, and Garcelle at almost any opportunity, Lisa was defending her behavior on Lois’ death before hypocritically asking her co-stars to give her attitude a pass. Lisa has continuously claimed to be a work in progress, but with the RHOBH stars in their late 40s to late 50s, there is no excuse for an adult to bully anyone, even if they recently experienced a loss.

Lisa Rinna Isn’t The First RHOBH Star To Grieve While Filming

In addition, while there’s no doubt that making public appearances after trauma is difficult, Lisa isn’t the only housewife to appear on RHOBH shortly after experiencing a tragedy. The most recent examples of this include her RHOBH season 12 co-stars Sanela Diana Jenkins and Dorit, who went through a miscarriage and home invasion, respectively. Kim was a housewife for several seasons after being outed by Kyle as an alcoholic on RHOBH season 1, while Taylor Armstrong was in a then-unknown abusive relationship with her late husband, Russell Armstrong, on RHOBH season 2. Finally, LVP, who fans want back for RHOBH season 13, lost her brother, Mark, shortly before RHOBH season 9 and struggled with his death throughout the season. Despite all of these struggles, however, the other RHOBH housewives never used their personal lives to justify how they treated their co-stars. In addition, Lisa never showed Kim or LVP any sympathy in particular, yet expected her RHOBH season 12 co-stars (and viewers) to write off her behavior.

Lisa has been no stranger to generating controversy since she joined RHOBH, but although she’s retained a small following after the events of RHOBH season 12, most viewers can no longer tolerate her volatile actions. Although Lois’ passing has affected Lisa and her family hard over the past year, Lisa needs to take accountability for her actions and recognize that bullying and harassment of others is unacceptable regardless of what is going on in her personal life. Fans have had enough of Lisa and the Fox Force Five, and after telling Andy Cohen that Bravo should “put her on pause,” most people are hoping they accept her offer ahead of RHOBH season 13.

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills airs Wednesdays at 8 p.m. ET on Bravo.
